At your request, following is a revised insulation calculation
for the above project, based on new window sizes, and related
to the "Uniform Dwelling Code".
214 S.F. windows + 80 S.F. doors
2342 S F 11 + 144 S F b s.1.'ll X 100% = 11.82% of

From Table A-l, Phase II, 5/8" plywood siding, R-ll + R-5.27
permits 14.40% of openings - use R-19 6" fiberglass roll
batt insulation. 14.40% is greater than 11.82% therefore
openings are O.K.
(2342 S.F. gross + 144 S.F. box sill) - (214 S.F. windows +
80 S.F. doors), equals 2192 S.F. opaque (insulated wall area).
(R-19) - (R-ll + R-5.27) = 2.73 excess R valve provided per
S.F., above code requirements. 2.73RX 2192 S.F. 'wall =
5984 excess R.
Table A-3 requires a total insulation value of R-38 at
cavity & R-19 over framing. R-38 is being provided at cavity.
15 trusses @ .25' wide X 45' long = 11.25 S.F. of framing.
11.25 S.F. X R-19 = a requirement of 213-R.
As calculated above 5984 excess R
- 213 required R
equals 5771 R provided in excess of code requirements
