Access: Parking spaces and access drives shall be arranged so as to require
ingress and egress from the parking lot to a street only by forward motion. of a
vehicle.
(i) Access drives for multiple family dwellings, commercial and industrial uses
shall comply with minimum setbacks as identified by the underlying zoning
district.
(ii) Existinq Access Drives/Drivewavs: Access drives/driveways that were
conforming prior to the effective date of this Ordinance will remain
conforming upon adoption of this Ordinance. New standards effective upon
adoption of this Ordinance that affect the setback of access drives/driveways
shall be applied to building additions/expansions and new development
under building permits issued after the effective date of this Ordinance.
(g) Stripinq: All parking spaces shall be striped and maintained in a clear and visible
manner.
(4) C-3 Central Commercial District
When off-street parking facilities are provided in the C-3 Central Commercial District when
not required, such facilities shall be provided in accordance with the provisions of this
Ordinance, except for the required number of parking spaces as set forth in Section 30-
36(B). .

(5) Single and Two Family Dwelling Parking Standards:
(a) The number of parking spaces required per 30-36(B)(7)(8) must be provided either
within a garage or as uncovered spaces which parking spaces must comply with the
front, rear, and side yard setbacks required of the principal structure and which
uncovered spaces must be screened in accordance with Section 30-35(1).
(i) Parking of vehicles shall be permitted only within driveway boundaries and
garages, or on uncovered spaces.
(ii) In addition to the driveway parking area, one uncovered parking space is
permitted alongside an attached or detached garage when such space is not
located between the building and the street or the building and the rear lot
line, and is at least seven and one-half (7 'Yz) feet from a side lot line.

Driveways leading to garages shall be no wider than twenty-four (24) feet at the lot
line, but may increase to any width between the lot line and the garage, not
exceeding the width of the garage. In no case shall the drive exceed the width ofthe
garage except where an open space is located alongside the garage pursuantto 30-
36(C)(5)(a)(ii). Where the width ofthe driveway at the garage exceeds the allowable
maximum width at the lot line, the driveway shall be tapered between the garage or
. the edge of parking space alongside the garage and the lot line.
(c) Where no garage exists the maximum driveway width shall not exceed twelve (12)
feet. Said driveway shall be situated so as not to create only a front yard parking
area.
