Mr. Steven Hook
P.O. Box 212
Winneconnie, WI 54986
Dear. Mr. Hook,
We have noticed several disturbances related to your property at
1124 Merrill St. This historically has been a quiet family neighborhood. We
look out for each other's well being.
On several occasions the police have been called to quell the activities
of what appear to be unsupervised children. These activities include
disturbing the peace, obscene language and property damage. The latest of
these episodes occurred on 9-30-99 and 10-1-99.
We are fearful, distressed and concerned on a continuous basis.
These and other events require that we alert you to a potentially
explosive situation. We suggest that you evict the current tenants and
exercise greater care in future rentals.
We do not wish to resort to formally contacting legal counsel in
reference to our rights under applicable municipal ordinances, Wisconsin
public nuisance statute, or under other legal basis. It is usually cpstly and
time-consuming to initiate and pursue such formal avenues. Please work
with us on this problem to avoid such recourse.
Within fourteen days of the date of this letter, please respond in
writing as to the remedial efforts you will take to alleviate this troublesome
situation, not only for us, but for the neighborhood.
Sincerely,
Brian J. Gabavics
