Dear Mr. Noe:
I have discussed the construction of an unattached boathouse With Milton Schafer. The boathouse will
be located in the flood plain zone and will be placed below the level of the high water of a "one
hundred year flood stage." The boathouse is to be standard wood frame construction with a concrete
foundation.
In addition to the foundation work already complete, my reconnnendation to him to prevent any
floatation in a future flood is the following:
Secure treated 2x4 wood bottom plate to foundation With the already existing anchor bolts 24"
on center. Wood studs should be 2x4 wood studs at 16" on center, attach each 2x4 wood stud
to 2x4 treated bottom plate with.:framing anchors at each stud. Framing anchors shall be

studs and plate per manufacturer's instructions, see attached Simpson information.
