roof insulation showing the ASTM test methods and values. T e second is a UL fire resistance ratings

Dacription
Johns Manville (JMl Fiber Glass Roo11nsulation is a rigid
roof insulatilin board composed ofin.orgaoio glass fibers,
bonded by a resinous binder. The board is top surfa ced
with asphalt. a fiber gla.s.s scrim reinforcement and kraft
paper to provide a tough, impact-resistant surface for
the roofing membrane. Fiber Glass Roof Insulation meets
the substantive ~hysical property rBquireme~ of ASTM
C '2.6, ex.ceptior compressive strengths on produots
with 1" (25 mm) or greater thickness.
Use
Fiber Glass Roof Insulation is intende-d for use as a rigid
therm2l1 foof insulation in BUR and modifisd bitumen
roofing systems. It is also intsl'tded for use as a utility
cover board over closed l:ell foam roof insulation
boards. Fiber Glass fioof Insulation has been feted in
numerouS Factory Mutual Class lA-50 and lA-90 fire
end wind-re:sistentsystems t:mdis also c[asS'ified by
Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. as an epprovl1ld roof
insulation in specific Class A cOnstruotions and

2603.4 Thermal barrier.
Except as provided for in Sections 2603.4.1
and 2603.7, foam plastic shall be separated
from the interior ()fabuilding by "an -,-
approved thermal barrier ofO.5-inch (12.7
mm) gypsum wallboard or equivalent
thermal barrier material that will limit the
average temperature rise of the unexposed
surface to not more than 2500P (1200e) after
15 minutes of fire exposure, complying with
the standard time-tymperature curve of
ASTM E 119. The thermal barrier shall be
installed in such a manner that it will remain
in place for 15 minutes based on PM 4880,
UL 1040 or UL 1715. Combustible
concealed spaces shall comply with Section
716.
