Brain and Kevin,
Just a follow-up on the phone message I left this morning.
Do you see any issues if we install the emergency distribution panel DEPQ and the (3) transfer switches in the garage on first floor?
See attached PDF (drawing scale is %" = 1'-0")
<<Garage.pdf>>

Good Morning Kevin and Brian
We provided design for a very similar space in Sheboygan where Mark Sommer reviewed
7.1.1 The code calls for the generator ( the EPS) , to be in a separate room the generator for this project is exterior mounted, the
room for the generator is further described as being required to be 2 hour ect -- there does not appear to be any statement that the
electrical distribution equipment(EPSS equipment) is required to be in a similar space.
7.2.2 The code does state that the electrical distribution equipment (EPSS) can not be in the same room as the normal power, but
no requirment for any type of rated room that I can see, or any other kind of installation requirements. There are sump pumps in the
basement connected to the generator, under a fire condition it would be expected that the normal power and the emergency power
will be shut of to the building.
Also can not find any requirement indicating that sinks or other equipment can not be in the same room as the distribution
equipment -- it would appear from this code section that all the emergency panels on the first floor can stay as indicated on the
drawings - would you agree?
7.2.2.1 the transfer switches are allowed to be in the same room as the normal power as long as there is twice the normal distance
Le.6' the switches can be moved to provide this clearance
Our plan would be to build a closet around the panelboard
Kind regards
