We ordered a MSR-100RlW (see attached document) indicator/control assy. I can have AI replace the existing
one when we receive the new. This will provide an audible and visual indication if smoke or trouble with the
smoke detector occurs. I'll let you know when this is complete.

Thank you for the response. Per 606.4.1 Supervision, exception #2 you have described how the fIrst part is being satisfied.
The question I still have is how is the second sentence of this code section being satisfIed? In short, if the smoke detectors
malfunction (trouble condition) how is the required signal being provided, where is it being provided (must be in a location
that will be noticed) and how is it being identified as a trouble signal?

The operating sequence and parts numbers are as follows:
If smoke is detected, the Air Products and Controls, Inc. #SM50 1- N smoke
detector, located inthe return air duct of Air Handler #1, closes contacts
generating an alarm condition shutting down AHU #1 and sends alarm to Air
Products and Controls, Inc. #MS-RHIPIA 78db remote alarm horn and LED red
alarm light located n the Lobby Room 101 near the teller area vor visual and
audible alarm in an occupied area. The alarm is sent to the DDC HV AC
control system locking out the air handler until the alarm is cleared.
The wiring diagram for the smoke detection system is also located in the
Operation and Maintenance Manual located on the jobsite.
The Air Products and Controls, Inc. smoke detector and alarm are UL listed,
CSMF listed and MEA approved.

The MSR Series remote accessories are designed to be used with Air
Products and Controls Duct Smoke Detectors to provide the most
complete functionality ever available in such a device.
The remote accessory is available with either the single gang remote
indicator/control (MSR-100R Products), or with the addition of a single
