The submittal described above has been reviewed for conformance with applicable Wisconsin Administrative Codes and
Wisconsin Statutes. The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner, as defmed in Chapter
101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsiblefor compliance with all code requirements
Key Item(s) / Conditions:
· IBC 711.3 Any penetrations of fire rated assemblies are required to be protected with a listed firestopping
system that matches the rating of the wall assembly being penetrated. Copies of the firestopping systems
are required to he provided at the time of inspection. If an assembly that meets ASTM E 119 can not be
found for the exhaust ducts penetrating the rated wall- fire dampers are required to be installed per
section 715.
· IBC 1101.2/ANSI A117.1-308.2 & 3 - Mechanical system controls shall be located a maximum of 48"
above the finished floor if the floor space allows a forward approach by a wheel chair or if the clear space
allows a parallel approach.
. NEC 110.26 Spaces About Electrical Equipment. Sufficient access and working space shall be
provided and maintained about all electric equipment to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance
of such equipment. Verify that the appropriate clearances required by this section are being maintained
around any equipment located above ceiling.
· IMC 403.3.3 Variable air volume air distribution systems, other than those designed to supply only 100%
outdoor air shall be provided with controls to regulate the flow of outdoor air. Such controls shall be
designed to maintain the flow of outdoor air at a rate not less than required by Section 403 over the entire
range of supply air operating rates. Additional information dated February f1' indicates that all RTU's
are controlled by the building automation system having J{FD 's for air capacity control. Verify that
minimum required outside air is provided over entire range of supply air operating rates.

· IMC 403.3.4 Balancing Ventilation systems shall be balanced by an approved method. Such balancing
shall verify that the ventilation system is capable of supplying the airflow rates required by Section 403.
· IMC 602.2.1 Materials exposed within plenums. Except as required by Sections 602.2.1.1 through
602.2.1.4, materials exposed within plenums shall be noncombustible or shall have a flame spread index of
not more than 25 and a smoke-developed index of not more than 50 when tested in accordance with
ASTM E 84.
· IMC 606.2.1 Smoke detectors shall be installed in return air systems with a design capacity greater than
2000 cfm......
· IMC 606.4.1 The duct smoke detectors shall be connected to a fire alarm system. The actuation of a
smoke detector shall activate a visible and audible supervisory signal at a constantly attended location.
· IMC 606.4.1 Exception 2. In occupancies not required to be equipped with a fire alarm system, actuation
of a smoke detector shall activate a visible and an audible signal in an approved location. Smoke detector
trouble conditions shall activate a visible or audible signal in an approved location and shall be identifies
as air duct detector trouble.
· IECC ComID 63.1029 (2) Piping insulation. Except as provided in pars. (a) to (c), recirculating
plumbing system piping, plumbing piping in the first 8 feet from storage tanks for noncirculating systems,
any piping served by a self-regulating electric heating cable, HV AC system piping, and related HV AC
fluid conveying conduit, such as heat exchanger bodies, shall be thermally insulated in accordance with
Table 63.1029 or equivalent.
· IECC Comm 63.1029(4) Additional duct sealing. (a) General. Except as specified in par. (b),
ductwork and plenums shall be sealed in accordance with Table 63.1029-1, and shall meet the duct seal
classes specified in Table 63.1029-2. Verify that ductwork is properly sealed for the correct duct design
static pressure classification, as plans submitted do not provided any information as to duct sealing or
pressure classification.
· COIDm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve
rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted
approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the
approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its
authorized representative prior to the work involved iil the revision or modification being carried out. A
revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with
Comm 61.31(1).
SUBMIT:
· IECC 503.3.3.7 [Comm 63.0503(2)(f)] Balancing and documentation of the HV AC system shall conform
to the IMe. Balancing report required to be submitted prior to final occupancy being allowed.
· Comm61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional
shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office.

A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All pemrits are required to
be obtained prior to commencement of work.
In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or
additions should conditions arise making them necessaryfor code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this
review shaH relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
