The submittal described above has been reviewed for confoUnance with applicable Wisconsin Administrative Codes and
Wisconsin Statutes. The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVE~. The owner, as defined in Chapter
101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements
Key Item(s) / Conditions:
NOTE: Per documentation provided on 1/24/07 the Owner has stated t.hat the existing kitchen hood, kitchen
hood fan and associated kitchen equipment will be removed. This plan approval is conditioned on the
removal of that equipment, and the space previously used as a kitchen being used as a break room / office
without any cooking equipment.
. IBC 1101.2/ANSI A117.1-308.2 & 3 - Mechanical system controls shall be located a maximum of 48"
above the finished floor if the floor space allows aforward approach by a wheel chair or if the clear space
allows a parallel approach.
. IMC 304.1 :Equipment and appliances shall be installed as required by the terms oftheir approval, in
accordance with the conditions of the listing, the manufactures instructions and this code.
. NEC 110.26 Spaces About Electrical Equipment. Sufficient access and working space shall be:
provided and maintained about all electric equipment to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance
of such equipment. Verify that the appropriate clearances required by this section are being maintained
- Caution with equipment being installed above drop ceilings
. IMC 307.1 Liquid combustion by-products of condensing appliances shall be collected and discharged to
an approved plumbing fixture or disposal area. Plans do not indiqate how condensate is being disposed -
verify proper disposal.
. IMC 401.5 Opening Location Outside air exhaust and intake openings shall be located a minimum of 10
feet (3048 mm) from lot lines or buildings on the same lot. Where openings front on a street or public way,
the distance shall be measured to the centerline of the street or public way.

· IMC 403.1 The amount of supply air shall be approximately equal to the amount ofretum and exhaust air.
The plans do not show how the exhaust and MUA systems will be interlocked to comply with this
requirement. Existing exhaustfans are required to run continuously when building is occupied - verify
controls used for existing bathroom exhausts will provide for this.
· IMC 403.2 Outdoor air required. The minimum ventilation rate of required outdoor air shall be
determined in accordance with Section 403.3. Ventilation is required to be provided continuously while
building is occupied.
· IMC 403.3.4 Balancing Ventilation systems shall be balanced by an apptovedmeth6d. Such balancing
shall verify that the ventilation system is. capable of supplying the airflow rates required by Section 403.
· IMC 405.1 Mechanical ventilation systems shall be provided with manual or automatic controls that will
operate such systems whenever the spaces are occupied. Air conditioning systems that supply required
ventilation air shall be provided with controls designed to automatically maintain the required outdoor air
supply rate during occupancy.
· IECC Comm 63.1029(4) Additional duct sealing. (a) General. Except as specified in par. (b),
ductwork and plenums shall be sealed in accordance with Table 63.1029-1, and shall meet the duct seal
classes specified in Table 63.1029-2. Verify that ductwork in attic space is properly sealed - Pressure
sensitive tape shall not be used as primary sealant.
· Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve
rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted
approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the
approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its
authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A
revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with
Comm 61.31 (1). Plans submitted do not include Air Conditioning - additional plans will be required to
be submitted and approved prior to installation of Air Conditioning System.
SUBMIT:
· IECC 503.3.3.7 [Comm 63.0503(2)(f)] Balancing and documentation of the HV AC system shall conform
to the !MC. Balancing report required to be submitted prior to final occupancy being allowed.
· Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional
shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office.
A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All permits are required to
be obtained prior to commencement of work.
In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or
additions should conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this
review shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
