[rhe representative from Sears suggested that some of the wires in question are thought to be in use for the phone system. This could not
be confirmed or disproven. There are non-metalic boxes in the ceiling that are to be removed by Sears. This was already being done
because the in-house communication system does not function correctly. They had already started this previous to my request.

he photo Studio was 80% done and the restrooms were not started. The electrician stated that the General Contractor will close the walls
he minute that he installs his wiring. While on site I noticed a person from ADT installing CL2 wiring which appeared to be on the grid. He
assured me he was installing his wiring on the bar joist. I confirmed that his cable is plenum rated.

guard shall extend not less than 30 inches (762 mm) beyond each end of such appliance, equipment, fan or

require climbing over obstructions greater than 30 inches (762 mm) high or walking on roofs having a
slope greater than 4 units vertical in 12 units horizontal (33-percent slope).
· Comm 5.34 No person may perform structural welding unless the person holds a registration issued by
Department of Commerce. Provide welders registration numbers for all people doing welding on this
project.
· Comm 61.30(3) This review does not include lighting. Comm 63.0001 Prior to installation, lighting
plans and calculations shall be prepared in compliance with the code. Lighting calculations provided do
not match lighting plans, fIXture schedule. Provide calculations that match fixture installation.
· Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve
rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted
approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the
approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its
authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A
revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with
Comm 61.31(1).
· MUN 30 This review does not include review for signage. Applications for and questions regaurding
signage permits should be directed to David Buck - Associate Planner (920) 236-5062.
· Storage tanks - This plan review does not include review of storage tanks, which require separate review
by the City of Oshkosh Fire Department, contact Stuart Schrottky (920) 236-5041 for additional
information
· MUN 30-35 (1)(5) All roof top and ground level mechanical equipment and utilities shall be fully screened
from view of any street or residential zoning district. Contact David Buck -Associate planner (920) 236-
5062 for additional information on screening requirements. All screening shall be properly anchored in
place to resist wind loads. Additionally mc 1608.8 Roofprojections - Drift loads due to mechanical
equipment, penthouses, parapets and other projections above the roof shall be determined in accordance
with Section 7.8 of ASCE 7.
SUBMIT:
. Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional
shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office.
A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All permits are required to
be obtained prior to commencement of work.

Greg,
The existing exhaust fan has 1599cfm, while the new exhaust fan that we
are specifying has 4300cfm. We need 4300cfm of exhaust to comply with
current codes.
One option to save the owner some money would be to leave the 1599cfm
exhaust fan in place and add a smaller 2500-2700cfm exha~st fan (instead
of the 4300cfm fan) to bring the total exhaust of the Auto Center up to
around 4300cfm.

A couple of notes:
He told me that the left 2 columns are for the make up unit, and
the right two are for the exhaust unit.
They have 2 CO detectors that trigger the units to come on if
they detect CO.
He marked the make up unit to show 100% O.S.A. CFM since it was
a make up unit that uses only outside air. (I'm not sure what this
means, but it was a markup by the GC and not the technician who filled
out the form.
Please let me know when you can get this back to me to see if it will
suffice.

I have reviewed the fax and see that the negative air pressure has been provided. Reviewing the file, I have not
yet received information on how the amount of exhaust that is needed by code was determined. In short, how did
the designer determine that a total of 2894 cfm of exhaust is needed? It is simply a square footage calculation.
Did the designer use 3/4 cfm/sq.ft of floor area as required by the former code or the 1/2 cfm/sq. ft required by
the present code. Someone from the Tenant's design firm has to take responsibility for the design of this system
and I have not yet received this information/submittal. It is as simple as providing this information on their
company letterhead and signing/sealing the letterlsubmittal. lam not requiring a formal plan review, just an
explanation on how the code required exhaust ventilation was designed.
I guess I should have been more explicit with item 3 on the last Correction Notice, dated 11/6/06. I know what I
wanted, but I guess I did not get specific enough.
