The owner, as defmed in Chapter 101.01(10), VVisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements Key Item(s) / Conditions: This plan approval is contingent on the approval of the Variance applied for on 1/19/07 and any of the conditions included in the application or required as a condition to granting that variance.. . IRC 711.3 Any penetrations of fire rated assemblies are required to be protected with a listed firestopping system that matches the rating of the wall assembly being penetrated. Copies of the firestopping ~ystems are required to be provided at the time of inspection. Caution on laundry hook-ups, and dryer vent in a rated wall. . IRC 714.2.3 Doors in corridors and smoke barriers. Fire doors required to have a minimum fire- protection rating of 20 minutes where located in corridor walls or smoke barrier walls having a fire- resistance rating in accordance with Table 714.2 shall be tested in accordance with NFP A 252 or UL 10C without the hose stream test. If a 20-minute fire door or fire door <l;ssembly contains glazing material, the glazing material in the door itself shall have a minimum fire-protection rating of 20 minutes and be exempt from the hose stream test. Glazingmaterial in any other part ofthe door assembly, including transom lites and sidelites, shall be tested in accordance withNFP A 257, including the hose stream test, in accordance with Section 714.3. Fire doors shall also meet the reQuirements for a smoke- and draft-control door assemblv tested in accordance with VI. 1784 with an artificial bottom seal installed across the full width of the bottom of the door assemblv. The air leakage rate of the door assembly shall not exceed 3.0 cfm per square foot (0.01524 m3/s1m2) of door opening at 0.10 inch (24.9 Pa) of water for both the ambient temperature and elevated temperature tests. Louvers shall be prohibited. Single- or multiple-station smoke alarms shall be installed and maintained in Groups R-2, R-3, R-4 and I-I, regardless of occupant load at all of the following locations: LOn the ceiling or wall outside of each separate sleeping area in the immediate vicinity of bedrooms. 2. In each room used for sleeping purposes. 3. In each story within a dwelling unit, including basements and cellars but not including crawl spaces and uninhabitable attics. In dwellings or dwelling units with split levels and without an intervening door between the adjacent levels, a smoke alarm installed on the upper level shall suffice for the adjacent lower level provided that the lower level is less than one full story below the upper level. . IRC 1003.2.10 Exit signs are required to be installed per this section Exit signs are required to be installed at each exit stair . IRC 1003.2.11 Means of egress illumination is required to be installed per this sectionA minimum 1 foot- cmidle at the floor level is required to be provided for the entire path of egress at all times. All paths iof egress are required to have adequate emergency lighting to meet the performance requirements of mc 1003.2.11.3. . The entire path of egress including the porch and exterior stair to grade is required to be provided with emergency illumination. Provide complete emergency lighting plan showing compliance with these requirements prior to installation of emergency lighting system. . IRC 1005.3.2.2 Enclosures under stairways. The walls and soffits within enclosed usable spaces under enclosed and unenclosed stairways shall be protected by I-hour fire-resistance-rated construction, or the fire-resistance rating of the stairway enclosure, whichever is greater. Access to the enclosed usable space shall not be directly from within the stair enclosure. Plans submitted do not included information on this issue - verifY that required fire rated construction is provided. . IRC 1009.1/ Comm 62.1009 In Group R occupancies and Group I-I occupancies. Provide emergency escape and rescue opening in accordance with this section Openings shall be a minimum of 5.7 sq ft in actual clear opening (5 sq ft on grade floor(s)) and minimum of24" high and 20" wide with a maximum sill height of 44". Exceptions: 2. In other than Group R-3 occupancies as applicable in Section 101.2, (twofamily detached), sleeping rooms provided with a door to a fire-resistance-rated corridor having access to two remote exits in opposite directions. Doors from bedrooms to corridor are required exits. IBC 1202.1 General. Buildings shall be provided with natural ventilation in accordance with Section 1202.4 or shall be provided with mechanical ventilation in accordance with the International Mechanical Code. Provide details for how ventilation is being provided for bedrooms without windows, or include this information in HVAC plan submittal ifbeing accomplished with mechanical ventilation. . IRC 1206.2 Air-borne sound. Walls, partitions and floor/ceiling assemblies separating dwelling units . from each other or from public or service areas shall have a sound transmission qlass (STC) of not less than 50 (45 if field tested) for air-borne noise when tested in accordance with ASTM E 90. This requirement shall not apply to dwelling unit entrance doors; however, such doors shall be tight fitting to the frame and sill. . IMC 504.5 Makeup air. Installations exhausting more than 200 cfm (0.09 m3/s) shall be provided with makeup air. Where a closet is designed for the installation of a clothes dryer, an opening having an area of not less than 100 square inches (0.0645 m2) shall be provided in the closet enclosure. . IMC 504.6.1 Maximum length. The maximum length of a clothes dryer exhaust duct shall not exceed 25 feet (7620 rom) from the dryer location to the outlet terminal. The maximum length of the duct shall be reduced 2.5 feet (762 rom) for each 45-degree (0.79 rad) bend and 5 feet (1524 rom) for each 90-degree (1.6 rad) bend. Exception: Where the make and model of the clothes dryer to be installed is known and the manufacturer's installation instructions for such dryer are provided to the code official, the maximum length of the exhaust duct, including any transition duct, shall be permitted to be in accordance with the dryer manufacturer's installation instructions. . IFC 304.3 Containers. Combustible rubbish and waste material kept within a structure shall be stored in accordance with Sections 304.3.1 through 304.3.3. . IFC 304.3.3 Capacity exceeding 1.5 cubic yards. Dumpsters and containers with an individual capacity of 1.5 cubic yards or more shall not be stored in buildings or placed within 5 feet of combustible walls, openings, or combustible roof eve lines. Provide details on where garbage will be stored . . Comm 61.30(3) / IMC 507.2 This plan review does not incIud~ heating, ventilation, or air conditioning. BV AC plans are required to be submitted and approved prior to installation ofHV AC equipment. Be aware that mc 1004.3 .2.4 contains additional resmction for air movement in conidors . Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with Corom 61.31(1). . Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office. .
