MEETING
Mr. McGee stated he would like to move that we ~nterpret this as an alley.
Mr. Lamine stated he would_ ratht;r s~etl1is varifin<;e granted and base the
hardship on the fact that we interpret this as an alley instead of a road.
Motion by McGee to move approval of a variance to construct a detached
garage with a 2~ ft. front yard setback from Siewert Trail. Seconded by
Neu. Motion carried 4-0.
Regarding the findings of fact Mr. McGee stated that when interpreted as
being an alley the Code does permit garages built within 2~ ft. of the alley.
Ms. Hintz stated that this is simply replacing a garage that had existed
and which predated the Ordinance and he would not be able to have a garage
anywhere else.
At this time ,discussion ensued relative to Item VI, St. Josaphat Church.
Members of the Board had no objection to Mr. Nitkowski hearing the matter
even though he is a member of the church as long as he felt he could be

Mr. Lamine explained the applicant is requesting a variance to construct a
IS' x 30' addition to a detached garage resulting in an 1170 sq. ft.
accessory structure; whereas the Ordinance requires that detached garages
not exceed 800 sq. ft.
Mr. Alois Grill, agent for the church, stated that they have a double garage
but they also have a minister, secretary and visitors using the garage. They
would like more space to accommodate visitors and also for storage for a
snowblower and lawn mower. We have 10 ft. of fawn and 5 ft. of pavement and
we would not be using any of our parking space.
Ms. Hintz stated this is a special set of circumstances because this is not
just a residence. It is used for the business,of a church~ school and rectory.
Mr. McGee said that some limitation should be ~et but this does not stretch
the limitation.
Mr. Lamine stated tha~ we are dealing with 12 lots. If they had a residential
structure on. each lot theY could have 800 sq. ft. on each lot.
Mr. Russ Thompson, 3484 Winneconne Road, also appeared to represent the church
with Mr. Grill, as president and treasurer.
