BILLS It is recommended that the bills, as audited and presented by the Director of Finance, be approved for payment. 2. BLOCK PARTY Request permission to grant approval to the residents of Evans Street to close Evans Street, from East Irving Avenue to East Lincoln Avenue, on Saturday, August 12, 2006, from 12:00 noon to 10:00 p.m., for their neighborhood block party, in accordance with their recently submitted Block Party Request Form. 3. UW-OSHKOSH MOVE-IN DAY Request permission to grant approval to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to change the traffic patterns around the University on Saturday and Sunday, September 3 and 4, 2006, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., to assist with student move-in day, in accordance with the attached letter of request. 4. BLOCK PARTY Request permission to grant approval to the residents of Cliffview Drive to close Cliffview Drive, from Murdock Avenue to Graber Street, on Saturday, September 9, 2006, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., for their neighborhood block party, in accordance with their recently submitted Block Party Request Form. 5. ST. RAPHAEL 5K FUN RUN/WALK/SKATE Request permission to grant approval to St. Raphael's Parish to utilize city streets and facilities on Saturday, August 12, 2006, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 :00 a.m., for their 5K Fun Run/Walk/Skate, in accordance with the attached letter of request. 6. BLOCK PARTY Request permission to grant approval to the residents of Fox Fire Drive to close Fox Fire Drive, between Bromfield Drive and Rolling Green Circle, on Sunday, August 20, 2006, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., for their neighborhood block party, in accordance with their recently submitted Block Party Request Form. 7. BLOCK PARTY Request permission to grant approval to the residents of East Starboard Court to close the cul-de-sac of East Starboard Court, from 915 East Starboard Court down, on Sunday, August 13, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., for their neighborhood block party, in accordance with their recently submitted Block Party Request Form. BLOCK PARTY REQUEST FORM FOR STREET CLOSURE The purpose of a BLOCK PARTY is to provide social interaction among block residents in order to strengthen a neighborhood. Closing of a street for such a party should not adversely impact any of the street's residents. The timeframe for the street closure should fall sometime between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., must be affirmed by the Oshkosh Common Council, and be based upon a recommendation from the City Manager. This form should be filled out completely and. returned to the City Manager's Office in time for appropriate action by the City Council. 1. Wollangk City Manager 215 Church Street Oshkosh, VV1 54901 Mr. Wollangk, I am writing in regards to the student move in for the 2006-2007 school year at UW Oshkosh. Freshman will move in on Sunday, September 3, 2006 and the remaining students will move in on Monday, September 4, 2006. As in the past, we are requesting permission to change the following streets to one- way streets to assist with the move in: Elmwood Ave. between Algoma Blvd. and West Lincoln Ave., with traffic flow south to north. West Lincoln Ave. between 'Elmwood Ave. and Cherry St., with traffic flow west to east. Cherry St. between West Lincoln Ave. and West Irving Ave., with traffic flow north to south. Osceola St. between Algoma Blvd. and High Ave., with traffic flow north to south. The changes would be in effect from 9:00AM to 4:00PM each day. Street barricades and signs will be used to inform motorist of the changes. Student parking attendants will man major intersections. In order to ensure the success and safety of this event we would like to request the use of the streets on the enclosed map. We would like to request the use ofthese streets between 9:30 a.m. and 11 :00 a.m. All streets will remain open to neighborhood traffic as needed. V olunteers will be stationed throughout the route for the safety of the participants. Residents on these streets will be informed of the event through neighborhood canvassing with flyers. We will notify everyone on the affected streets of the date, time, and duration of the event. We will be working with the City of Oshkosh Police Department to assist all participants in the crossing of 9th Avenue. Thank you for your consideration of this request.
