The submittal described above has been reviewed for conformance with applicable VVisconsin Administrative Codes and
VVisconsin Statutes. The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner, as defined in Chapter
101.01(10), VVisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements
Key Item(s) / Conditions:
. ANSI 404.2.4 Maneuvering Clearance at Doors. Minimum maneuvering clearance at doors shall
comply with Sections 404.2.4.1 through 404.2.4.7. Table 404.2.4.1 required min 18 inches on latch side
offront approach on pull side of door. Door No. 04 and 05 do not appear to have the required
clearance. Provide details on how this issue will be resolved.
. IBC 711.3 Any penetrations of fire rated assemblies are required to be protected with a listed firestopping
system that matches the rating of the wall assembly being penetrated. Copies of the firestopping systems
are required to be provided at the time of inspection.
. 712.1 Fire-Resistant Joint Systems General. Joints installed in or between fire-resistance- rated walls,
floor or floor/ceiling assemblies and roofs or roof/ceiling assemblies shall be protected by an approved fire-
resistant joint system designed to resist the passage of fire for a time period not less than the required fire-
resistance rating of the wall, floor or roof in or between which it is installed. Fire-resistant joint systems
shall be tested in accordance with Section 712.3. Copies of the HWD firestopping systems are required to
be provided at the time of inspection.

. IBC 901.2 Fire protection systems shall be installed, repaired, operated and maintained in accordance with
this code and the international fire code. Construction of new walls may require the addition and or
relocation of sprinkler heads to maintain required coverage, and not obstruct spray patterns of fire
sprinklers
. IFC 901.4 Fire protection systems shall be maintained in accordance with the original installation
standards for that system. Required fire protection systems shall be extended, altered, or augmented as
necessary to maintain and continue protection whenever the building is altered, remodeled or added to.
Alterations to fire protection systems shall be done in accordance with applicable standards. Submit plans
for fire sprinkler modifications.
. IBC 906.1/ IFC 906.3 The maximum travel distance allowed to a fire extinguisher is 75 feet.
. IBC 1003.2.10 Exit signs are required to be installed per this section
. IBC 1003.2.11 Means of egress illumination is required to be installed per this section. All paths of egress
are required to have adequate emergency lighting to meet the performance requirements of IBC
1003.2.11.3. Provide complete emergency lighting plan showing compliance with these requirements
prior to installation of emergency lighting system.
. IBC 1005.3.2 Vertical exit enclosures. Interior exit stairways shall be enclosed. Vertical exit enclosures
four stories or more shall be 2-hour fire-resistance rated. Vertical exit enclosures less than four stories shall
be I-hour fire-resistance rated. The number of stories shall be computed as all floor levels, including
basements but excluding mezzanines. An exit enclosure shall not be used for any purpose other than means
of egress. Vertical exit enclosures shall be constructed as fire barriers in accordance with Section 706. The
enclosure requirements for interior exit ramps shall be the same as for interior exit stairways.
. IBC 706.4 Continuity. Fire barriers shall extend from the top of the floor/ceiling assembly below to the
underside of the floor or roof slab or deck above and shall be securely attached thereto. These walls shall
be contiJ1uous through concealed spaces such as the space above a suspended ceiling. The supporting
construction shall be protected to afford the required fire-resistance rating of the fire barrier supported
except for I-hour fire-resistance-rated incidental use area separations as required by Table 302.1.1 in
buildings of Types lIB, lIIB and VB construction. Hollow vertical spaces within the fire barrier wall shall
be firestopped at every floor level.. Provide details showing how floor / ceiling assembly of the rated
stairway on the East end will comply with these requirements.
. IBC 1004.2.1 Exit or exit access doorways required. Maximum occupant load in board room is 50
persons.
. IBC 1209.1 Provide toilet room floors with smooth, hard, nonabsorbent surface extending minimum 6
inches up onto walls.
. Comm 61.30(3) This review does not include lighting. Corom 63.0001 Prior to installation, lighting
plans and calculations shall be prepared in compliance with the code. The plans shall be available upon
request.
. Comm 63.1050 Lighting Controls that must be installed Provide are controls, controls to reduce
lighting, controls for daylit ares, and shutoff controls as required by this section.
. Comm 61.30(3) / IMC 507.2 This plan review does not include heating, ventilation, or air
conditioning. HV AC plans are required to be submitted and approved prior to installation ofHV AC
equipment.

. Comm 62.3001 This plan review does not include review for Corom 18 elevator code requirements
. Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve
rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted
approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the
approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its
authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A
revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with
Corom 61.31(1).
. Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional
shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office.
. MUN 30-35 (1)(5) All roof top and ground level mechanical equipment and utilities shall be fully screened
from view of any street or residential zoning district. Contact David Buck - Associate planner (920) 236-
5062 for additional information on screening requirements. All screening shall be properly anchored in
place to resist wind loads. Additionally mc 1608.8 Roofprojections - Drift loads due to mechanical
equipment, penthouses, parapets and other projections above the roof shall be determined in accordance
with Section 7.8 of ASCE 7.
A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All permits are required to
be obtained prior to commencement of work.
In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or
additions should conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this
review shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
