HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-218 attachment MEMORANDUM TO: Richard Wollangk, City Manager FROM: Mark Huddleston, Transportation Director DATE: June 21, 2006 RE: Item Defeated by the Traffic Review Board at their June 13, 2006 Meeting A CITIZEN REQUEST FOR NO PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF ARBORETUM DRIVE FROM ALGOMA BOULEVARD TO 50 FEET WEST OF ALGOMA BOULEVARD. [CURRENT CONDITION: NO RESTRICTION]. This is a request from a citizen. The issue of removing parking near this intersection was brought forward due to a vehicle parking near the intersection for extended periods of time. The van was legally parked approximately 15 feet from the stop sign. However, there is an unused driveway curb cut located 30 feet from the stop sign, which was blocked by the parked vehicle. If the property on the southwest corner of Arboretum Drive and Algoma Boulevard is developed this curb cut will be needed, and a vehicle may attempt to park between the driveway and stop sign. The removal of parking will not have a negative impact on the neighborhood, and may prevent future problems DEFEATED BY TRAFFIC REVIEW BOARD (1-5)
