On 05/09/2006 it was forwarded to the following Section: Public Sector and Mine Safety
The Chief for that Section is: Dave Vriezen
Phone: (608) 261-2503
Your complaint has been reviewed and the following determination has been made:
After reviewing your complaint, it has been referred to two other agencies. 1. The Department of Public
Instruction has jurisdiction over schools in Wisconsin, however, they have not asked the Department of
Commerce to investigate at this time. Please note: currently we have no mold standard to enforce. 2. The City of
Oshkosh is a delegated agent for the Department of Commerce for enforcement of the Building Codes within the
City Limits of Oshkosh. To that end, City of Oshkosh Building Inspector Allyn Dannhoff has been contacted. He
reported that the leaking roof has been identified as needing repairs and that 2 separate workorders were been
created on May 12 to address these problems. Building Inspector Dannhoff continues to monitor this situation
and can be reached at (920) 236-5045 or adannhoff@cLoshkosh.wLus. After discussions with Mr. Dannhoff, it
appears that he is taking the appropriate steps to address the cause of the roof leaks. Also, Mr. Dannhoff
discovered that the EPA and the DNR has already investigated the mold concern and found no cause to pursue
further investigation. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, however, the City of Oshkosh appears to have
the your concerns addressed.
Please refer to the tracking ID number provided in this letter for any future contacts with the Department concerning
this complaint. We appreciate your efforts in bringing this matter to our attention and we thank you for your help in
keeping Wisconsin safe.
