IFGC 619 Unit heaters shall be supported by hangers and brackets which are noncombustible. Suspended type
unjt heaters require clearances to combustible materials of not less than 18" at the sides, 12" at the bottom and
6" above the top where the unit has an internal draft hood or I" above the top of the slopjng side of the vertical
draft hood.

After checking the plan, interior wall dividing tenant no.1 and no.2 is not required to be 1-hour fire resistive wall.
You may replace material for the dividing wall however structural integrity shall be maintained- For example:
bottom plate will be anchored to the slab and top plate will be anchored to roof assembly.

Hello Adam,
You recently approved a plan for us, the Retail! Business Center at 150 N. Koeller Road, Oshkosh
(transaction ID No. 1220780. We are looking to revise this approved plan.
Specifically, we want to change a I-hour rated wall to be a non-rated wall. The newly built wall
separates two tenant spaces. However the building is not a "covered mall" as defined by code. Also,
the entire building is within the area limitations set by code. Therefore the wall does not need to be
rated.
See the comments by the local building inspector (Allyn Danhoff) below. If you need any further
information from me, please let me know.

I think it would be best to cover all your basis by calling the plan examiner and see if you can amend it by
letter- Meaning, can the 1 hour designation be removed by simply submitting a letter indicating since it is
not a code requirement you want to eliminate it. I would think this could be done without cost. That way
you complete the paperwork. Otherwise the state has a plan laying out there that says there is supposed
to be a one hour wall.
