ANSI 303.4 Changes in level greater than Y, inch shall be ramped in compliance with Section 405 or 406.
Verify that entrance / exits meet accessibility requirements.
mc 406.6.3 Ventilation. Garages shall be mechanically ventilated in accordance with the International
Mechanical Code. The ventilation system shall be controlled at the entrance to the garage.
mc 711.3 Any penetrations of fire rated assemblies are required to be protected with a listed firestopping
system that matches the rating of the wall assembly being penetrated. Copies of the firestopping systems
are required to be provided at the time of inspection.
mc 901.2 Fire protection systems shall be installed, repaired, operated and maintained in accordance with
this code and the international fire code. {Construction of new walls may require the addition and or
relocation of sprinkler heads to maintain required coverage, and not obstruct spray patterns offire
sprinklers} Additionally the tire rack storage area requires sprinkler protection.
IFC 901.4 Fire protection systems shall be maintained in accordance with the original installation
standards for that system. Required fire protection systems shall be extended, altered, or augmented as
necessary to maintain and continue protection whenever the building is altered, remodeled or added to.
Alterations to fire protection systems shall be done in accordance with applicable standards. Submit plans
for fire sprinkler modifications.

mc 906.1/ IFC 906.3 The maximum travel distance allowed to a fire extinguisher is 75 feet.
mc 1003.2.10 Exit signs are required to be installed per this section
mc 1003.2.11 Means of egress illumination is required to be installed per this section. All paths of egress
through The Retail Display area are required to have adequate emergency lighting to meet the performance
requirements ofIBC 1003.2.11.3. Depending on configuration of store displays and racking additional
emergency illumination may be required to comply with these requirements. Existing means of egress
emergency lighting is permitted to be maintained in compliance with the code in effect at the time of
construction. Any altered path of egress, or new path of egress, and any new emergency lighting being
installed is required to comply with current code requirements.
mc 1101.2IANSI A117.1-308.2 & 3 - Mechanical system controls shall be located a maximum of 48"
above the finished floor if the floor space allows a forward approach by a wheel chair or ifthe clear space
allows a parallel approach.

COMM 62.1109 (12) Where counters are provided for sales or distribution of goods or services, at least
one of each type provided shall be accessible.
IMC 302.1 The building or structure shall not be weakened by the installation of mechanical systems.
Verify that existing structure is capable of supporting the additional weight of the proposed rooftop
equipment.
IMC 304.1 Equipment and appliances shall be installed as required by the terms of their approval, in
accordance with the conditions of the listing, the manufactures instructions and this code.
304.4 Public garages. Appliances located in public garages, service stations, repair garages or other areas
ftequented by motor vehicles, shall be installed a minimum of 8 feet (2438 mm) above the floor. Where
motor vehicles exceed 6 feet (1829 mm) in height and are capable of passing under an appliance,
appliances shall be installed a minimum of2 feet (610 mm) higher above the floor than the height of the
tallest vehicle. Exception: The requirements of this section shall not apply where the appliances are
protected ftom motor vehicle impact and installed in accordance with Section 304.3 and NFP A 88B.
IMC 304.9 Guards. Guards shall be provided where appliances, equipment, fans or other components that
require service are located within 10 feet (3048 mm) of a roof edge or open side of a walking surface and
such edge or open side is located more than 30 inches (762 mm) above the floor, roof or grade below. The
guard shall extend not less than 30 inches (762 mm) beyond each end of such appliance, equipment, fan or
component and the top of the guard shall be located not less than 42 inches (1067 mm) above the elevated
surface adjacent to the guard. The guard shall be constructed so as to prevent the passage of a 2l-inch-
diameter (533 mm) sphere and shall comply with the loading requirements for guards specified in the
International Building Code.

IMC 306.5 Equipment aud appliances on roofs or elevated structures. Where equipment and
appliances requiring access are installed on roofs or elevated structures at a height exceeding 16 feet (4877
mm), such access shall be provided by a permanent approved means of access, the extent of which shall be
from grade or floor level to the equipment aud appliances' level service space. Such access shall not
require climbing over obstructions greater than 30 inches (762 mm) high or walking on roofs having a
slope greater than 4 units vertical in 12 units horizontal (33-percent slope).
Comm 5.34 No person may perform structural welding unless the person holds a registration issued by
Department of Commerce. Provide welders registration numbers for all people doing welding on this
project.
Comm 61.30(3) This review does not include lighting. Comm 63.0001 Prior to installation, lighting
plans and calculations shall be prepared in compliance with the code. Lighting calculations provided do
not match lighting plans, fvcture schedule. Provide calculations that match fvcture installation.
Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve
rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted
approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the
approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its
authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A
revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with
Comm61.3l(1).
MUN 30 This review does not include review for signage. Applications for and questions regaurding

by the City of Oshkosh Fire Department, contact Stuart Schrottky (920) 236-5041 for additional

MUN 30-35 (1)(5) All rooftop and ground level mechanical equipment and utilities shall be fully screened
from view of any street or residential zoning district. Contact David Buck - Associate planner (920) 236-
5062 for additional information on screening requirements. All screening shall be properly anchored in
place to resist wind loads. Additionally IBC 1608.8 Roofprojections - Drift loads due to mechanical
equipment, penthouses, parapets and other projections above the roof shall be determined in accordance
with Section 7.8 of ASCE 7.
SUBMIT:
. Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional
shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office.
A copy of the approved pIous, specifications, aud this letter shall be on-site during construction. All pennits are required to
be obtained prior to commencement of work.

In grouting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or
additions should conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this
review shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
