The owner, as defmed in Chapter 101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements Key Item(s) / Conditions: ANSI 303.4 Changes in level greater than Yz inch shall be ramped in compliance with Section 405 or 406. VerifY that entrance / exits meet accessibility requirements. ANSI 404.2.4.1 Swinging doors shall have the maneuvering clearance complying with Table 404.2.4.1 This requires that 18 inches be provided parallel to the door on the pull side of the door-Provide details as to how this will be addressed at the doors leading from the corridor. mc 711.3 Any penetrations of fire rated assemblies are required to be protected with a listed firestopping system that matches the rating of the wall assembly being penetrated. Copies ofthefirestopping systems are required to be provided at the time ofinspection. 712.1 Fire-Resistant Joint Systems General. Joints installed in or between fire-resistance- rated walls, floor or floor/ceiling assemblies and roofs or roof/ceiling assemblies shall be protected by an approved fire- resistant joint system designed to resist the pasSage of fire for a time period not less than the required fire- resistance rating of the wall, floor or roof in or between which it is installed. Fire-resistant joint systems shall be tested in accordance with Section 712.3. Fire doors required to have a minimum fire- protection rating of 20 minutes where located in corridor walls or smoke barrier walls having a fire- resistance rating in accordance with Table 714.2 shall be tested in accordance with NFP A 252 or UL IOC without the hose stream test. If a 20-minute fire door or fire door assembly contains glazing material, the glazing material in the door itself shall have a minimum fire-protection rating of 20 minutes and be exempt ftom the hose stream test. Glazing material in any other part of the door assembly, including transom lites and sidelites, shall be tested in accordance with NFP A 257, including the hose stream test, in accordance with Section 714.3. Fire doors shall also meet the requirements for a smoke- and draft-control door assembly tested in accordance with' UL 1784 with an artificial bottom seal installed across the full width of the bottom of the door assembly. The air leakage rate of the door assembly shall not exceed 3.0 cfm per square foot (0.01524 m3/slm2) of door opening at 0.10 inch (24.9 Fa) of water for both the ambient temperature and elevated temperature tests. Louvers shall be prohibited. The 2 existing doors in the 2 hour wall which now forms a portion of the new corridor are required to comply with this section mc 714.2.7 Fire doors shall be self closing or automatic closing. No door / hardware schedule has been provided -All hardware installed on rated doors is required to comply with NFP A 80 requirements for hardware on rated doors. mc 906.1 / IFC 906.3 The maximum travel distance allowed to a fire extinguisher is 75 feet. It would appear the mezzanine area will require an additional extingusher. mc 1003.2.10 Exit signs are required to be installed per this section This includes the horizontal exits. mc 1003.2.11 Means of egress illumination is required to be installed per this section. All paths of egress are required to have adequate emergency lighting to meet the performance requirements ofIRC 1003.2.11.3. Existing means of egress emergency lighting is permitted to be maintained in compliance with the code in effect at the time of construction. Anv altered oath of eeress. or new oath of eeress. and any new emergency lighting being installed is required to comply with current code requirements. mc 1004.3.2 Corridors - Corridors shall comply with sections 1004.3.2.1 through 1004.3.2.5. VerifY that walls and doors forming the corridor have been constructed in accordance with these requirements. mc 1604.4 Analysis. Load effects on structural members and their connections shall be detennined by methods of structural analysis that take into account equilibrium, general stability, geometric compatibility, and both short- and long-term material properties. Provide documentation that layers of drywall between structural member as shown on page 7 of structural calculations can properly support the loads imposed on it. mc 3408.6 Alterations affecting an area containing a primary function. Where an alteration affects the accessibility to, or contains an area of primary function, the route to the primary function area shall be accessible. The accessible route to the primary function area shall include toilet facilities or drinking fountains serving the area of primary function. Provide details showing compliance, or submit disproportionality worksheet. Comm 5.34 No person may perform structural welding unless the person holds a registration issued by Department of Commerce. HV AC plans are required to be submitted and approved prior to installation ofHV AC equipment. Be aware that IBC 1004.3.2.4 contains additional restriction for air movement in corridors Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with Comm 61.31(1). . Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office. A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All pennits are required to be obtained prior to commencement of work. In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or additions should conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this review shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
