Wisconsin Statutes. The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner, as defmed in Chapter
101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements

. IBC 711.3 Any penetrations of fire rated assemblies are required to be protected with a listed firestopping
system that matches the rating ofthe walI assembly being penetrated. Copies of the firestopping systems
are required to be provided at the time of inspection.
. IBC 901.2 Fire protection systems shalI be instalIed, repaired, operated and maintained in accordance with
this code and the international fire code. (Construction of new walls may require the addition and or
relocation of sprinkler heads to maintain required coverage, and not obstruct spray paUerns offire
sprinklers)
. IFC 901.4 Fire protection systems shalI be maintained in accordance with the original instalIation
standards for that system. Required fire protection systems shall be extended, altered, or augmented as
necessary to maintain and continue protection whenever the building is altered, remodeled or added to.

. IRC 1003.2.11 Means of egress illumination is required to be installed per this section. All paths of egress
through The Retail Display area are required to have adequate emergency lighting to meet the performance
requirements ofIBC 1003.2.11.3.
. IRC 1101.21ANSI A117.1-308.2 & 3 -Mechanical system controls shall be located a maximum of48"
above the finished floor if the floor space allows a forward approach by a wheel chair or if the clear space
allows a parallel approach.
. IRC 1209.1 Provide toilet room floors with smooth, hard, nonabsorbent surface extending minimum 6
inches up onto walls.
. COMM 62.1109 (12) Where counters are provided for sales or distribution of goods or services, at least
one of each type provided shall be accessible.

. IRC 2902..1 / Table 2902 Drinking water is required to be provided, since no drinking fountain is shown
on plans a bottled water cooler is required to be provided. Revised plan will be submitted showing water
cooler being relocated as part of toilet room relocation plan.

VerifY that existing structure is capable of supporting the additional weight of the proposed roof top
equipment.
. IMC 304.9 Guards. Guards shall be provided where appliances, equipment, fans or other components that
require service are located within 10 feet (3048 mm) of a roof edge or open side of a walking surface and
such edge or open side is located more than 30 inches (762 mm) above the floor, roof or grade below. The
guard shall extend not less than 30 inches (762 mm) beyond each end of such appliance, equipment, fan or
component and the top of the guard shall be located not less than 42 inches (1067 mm) above the elevated
surface adjacent to the guard. The guard shall be constructed so as to prevent the passage ofa 21-inch-
diameter (533 mm) sphere and shall comply with the loading requirements for guards specified in the
futemational Building Code. Caution on location of RTU's along roof edge.
. IMC 401.5.1 Mechanical and gravity outside air intake openings shall be located a minimum of 10 feet
from any hazardous or noxious contaminant such as vents, chinmeys, plumbing vents, streets, alleys,
parking lots and loading docks.
. IMC 405.1 Mechanical ventilation systems shall be provided with manual or automatic controls that will
operate such systems whenever the spaces are occupied. Air conditioning systems that supply required
ventilation air shall be provided with controls designed to automatically maintain the required outdoor air
supply rate during occupancy.

. IMC 606.4.1 The duct mounted smoke detectors shall be connected to a fire alarm system.
. Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve
rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted
approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the
approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its
authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A
revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with
Comm61.31(1).
. MUN 30 This review does not include review for signage. Applications for and questions regarding
signage permits should be directed to David Buck - Associate Planner (920) 236-5062.
. MUN 30-35 (1)(5) All roof top and ground level mechanical equipment and utilities shall be fully screened
from view of any street or residential zoning district. Contact David Buck - Associate planner (920) 236-
5062 for additional information on screening requirements. All screening shall be properly anchored in
place to resist wind loads. Additionally mc 1608.8 Roofprojections - Drift loads due to mechanical
equipment, penthouses, parapets and other projections above the roof shall be determined in accordance
with Section 7.8 of ASCE 7. Screening to be installed per plans
· Comm 5.34 No person may perform structural welding unless the person holds a registration issued by
Department of Commerce. Provide welders registration nnmbers for all people doing welding on this
project
SUBMIT:
· IECC 503.3.3.7 [Comm 63.0503(2)(t)] Balancing and documentation of the HV AC system shall conform
to the IMC. Balancing report required to be submitted prior to final occupancy being allowed.
. Comm 61.30(3) This review does not include lighting. Comm 63.0001 Prior to installation, lighting
plans and calculations shall be prepared in compliance with the code. Please submit lighting work sheets.
· Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional
shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office.
A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All pennits are required to
be obtained prior to commencement of work.
In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or
additions should conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this
review shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
