Code COMM 21.02 Compliance No Compliance Date 04/14/2006 [rhe east wall of the detached garage is bowed and pushing outward and the studs are leaning. The garage wall needs to be repaired prior to installing siding or re-roofing the garage. The garage needs new siding, potential roofing, soffits, ascia, and new entrance and overhead doors. If the garage is going to be razed code compliant off street parking will be required in addition to the removal of the concrete slab. Two parking spaces are required and if not located within the garage he parking spaces need to meet setbacks and be screened. See David Buck at 236-5062 with questions. Also note that vioiations were written up on 11/9/05 and they still exist. Violations must be corrected and approved within 30 days unless otherwise noted. Taken by Andrew Prickett 649 W 9th Ave 3-14-061 The wood siding has deteriorated to a point where it can not be repaired and/or painted. Siding is required. Taken by Andrew Prickett 649 W 9th Ave 3-14-065 The following violations exist for the deck: 1)The deck is not anchored to the footings. 2)The posts do not line up on the center of the footings as required. 3)Screws are installed for the deck hangers and are not approved for this use. 4)Old lumber is used. 5)The guardrail and handrail spindle spacing is greater than the 4” that is allowed by code. 6)A code compliant graspable handrail has not been installed. 7)Treads and risers are not uniform. Treads are required to be a minimum of 9” and risers are to be a maximum of 8”. The risers and treads can only vary in uniformity by 3/16” for the entire stairway. It appears that the roof is rotten or no sheathing exists under the shingles. Have a roofing contractor verify the integrity of the entire roof structure. Fascia/Soffits require repairs.
