FINDINGS OF INSPECTION
THE EXTERIOR STEPS TO THE SECOND FLOOR LIVING UNIT ARE IN POOR CONDI-
TION WITH LOOSE AND BROKEN TREADS, STRINGERS WHICH ARE SPLIT UNDER THE
TREADS, ROTTIill STRINGER BOTTOMS AND A LOOSE HANDRAIL ON THE SOUTH SIDE.
THE STEPS SHALL BE REPLACED WITH NEW TREATED LUMBER TO CODE. A PERMIT
IS REQUIRED,
DEADBOLT LOCKING DEVICES ARE REQUIRED ON ALL LIVING UNIT ENTRY DOORS,
ELECTRICAL SERVICE PANELS SHALL BE READIl,..Y ACCESSIBLE TO ALL OCCUPANTS
IN A DWELLING WITHOUT PASSING THROUGH ANOTHER DWELLING UNIT AS REQUIR-
ED BY THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE, THE SECOND FLOOR TENANT PRESENTLY
HAS TO PASS THROUGH THE LOWER LIVING UNIT TO REACH THE ELECTRICAL SER-
VICE PANEL. PERMIT AND ELECTRICIAN REQUIRED,
VIOLATION #2 SHALL BE CORRECTED BEFORE MlI.Y 19, 1994,
VIOLATION #1 SHALL BE CORRECTED BEFORE JUNE 20, 1994,
VIOLATJON#3 SHALL BE CORRECTED BEFORE JULY 19, 1994,

Dear Mr. Wilkins:
In response to your statements concerning your rental property
at 622 Grand Street I submit the following:

Your lot is 116 feet deep from the sidewalk. The
area was measured and showed that at least 16 feet
of the area in question belongs to you.
Handrails are required on both sides of open steps
when there are more than three (3) ri sers. Your
steps have four risers which includes the step up
to the porch. The two foot rule applies to
guardrails on porches or decks and not steps. If
you wish to view the code on steps, you are welcome
to come in and look at the code book.
Chimney bricks are loose and may have fallen into
the chimney. The chimney shall be checked and
repaired.
On April 19, 1994 a reinspection was made to assure compliance
on violation #1 noted March 25, 1994. An unlicensed vehicle was
still parked on the premises and contact was made with the tenant,
Tina Kavel, at that time. She was again reminded to remove the
vehicle from the premises or have it licensed. At the time of
tenant contact several violations of the Minimum Housing Code were
noted in addition to those already ordered corrected. Enclosed is
ç copy of those orders.
Please call me to arrange an interior inspection, which we
discussed previously, anci which you agreed to in your affidavit of
facts dated 4-8-94, as soon as possible.

IN THE OPNION OF MYSELF AND-THE CHIEF BUILDIUJ INSPECTOR ARE SO DETERIO-
RATED TJ-lA.T THEY POSE A J-lA.ZARD FOR ANYONE USING THEM.
ALSO IT WAS NOTED THAT. THERE ARE NO DEADBOLT LOCKING DEVICES IN-
STALLED ON THE FIRST. AND SECOND FLOOR LIVING UNIT DOORS. AS ORDERED ON
APRIL 19, 1~94 NOR HAS A PERMIT BEEN OBTAINED BY AN ELECTRICIAN TO
INSTALL A SERVICE PANEL WITH. IM'-IEDIATE ACCESS. .BY THE SECOND FLOOR UNIT
WITHOUT PASSING THROUGH THE LOWER LIVIr-x3 UNIT.
A REINSPECTION WILL BE MADE ON JULY 6, 1994 TO ASSUREDEADBOLT
LOCKING DEVICES J-lA.VE BEEN INSTALLED ON ALL LIVIt£UNIT DOORS. THE
