This is the vacant Oshkosh Tent & Awning Building where the City has had reoccurring problems with vandalism, camp
fires, etc.
March, 2002: A citation was issued for failure to remove junk & debris and for failure to maintain the building.
April, 2002: The owner submitted a written proposal to secure the building and remove debris within 30 days of the court
date (April 10, 2002.)
Late May, 2002: An Abatement Notice was issued to comply with these orders.
The Notice was posted on the building in mid June.
At this time, since the owner has not complied, we should either hire a contractor to perform this work or have Public
Works Staff perform this work. In both cases the cost would be billed as a special assessment.
Could you please discuss this with Dick and Dave (possibly at the Dept. Head Meeting.) (I will bring over my file so you
have photos to show Dick.)
