Covered Racking Micro-Lam Header Connections
Dear Mr. Dannhoff:
We are in receipt of the Correction Notice dated 12-1-05 in regards to the micro-lam
connectors to the steel pallet racking at the Mills Fleet Farm Oshkosh display yard. We
have researched the situation and have come up with the following determination.
The saddle brackets utilized at each of the micro-lam connections to the steel pallet
racking were added for additional factor of safety against snow loading.
We performed structural calculations for wind uplift and have determined that
anchoring of the micro-lams to the saddle brackets is not necessary to resist uplift
forces. This is true at micro-lam splice points and at micro-lam support points along the
length of the micro-lam.
No additional anchoring of the micro-lam headers will be needed.
