Introduction he light fixtures installed to illuminate the parking lotlauto sales area are in violation of the City's exterior lighting code. An
nspection was perfonmed on June 172003, and light elements were observed from the street and adjacent
properties. Specifically, the fixtures have a drop down lens with the element visible from the street and adjacent properties,
NhiCh is not a penmitted fixture. Also, the light fixture facing the building has beell tilted up. the element is visible.

Description In no instance shall an exterior lighting fixture be oriented so that the lighting element (or transparent shield) is visible from an
~_djacent property or street right-of-way.The use of shielded luminaries and careful fixture placement is encouraged so to
I,acilitate compliance with this requirement.
Summary
lease supply the City with a design detail of fixtures, to assist in detenmining if the fixtures comply with the exterior lighting
~tandards, and an overall lighting plan for the site, depicting foot-candle measurements at the property lines. Occupancy will
rot be granted until the lights are deemed compliant. If you have any questions in regard to this notice, please contact our
pffice within the next 10 days.
