The Depamnent of Commerce has received construction plans for review for the subject project, submitted in
accordance with the provisions ofComm50.12 or Comm 50.13, accompanied by the owner's request to begin
construction work on the Footings and Foundatious prior to Depamnental review and approval.
This letter will serve as the department's pennission to the local building officials to allow construction of the
Footings and Foundations, only, for the subject project prior to review and approval by this department
NO REVIEW OF THE SUBMITTED DOCUMENTS HAS BEEN UNDERTAKEN BY THE DEPARMENT AT
THIS TIME FOR CODE COMPLIANCE.
In accordance with the provisions of the owner's signed request to begin construction prior to departmental review
and approval. the owner will be required to make any changes after the plans have been reviewed, and to remove or
replace non-code complying parts of the foundations and/or footings.
Prior to the start of construction, all applicable building pennits should be obtained from the local authorities having
jurisdiction in accordance with local laws and ordinances Nothing in this approval limits the power of municipalities
to make, or enforce, additional or more stringent regulations, providing the regulations do not conflict with this code
or any other rule of the department. or law.
DEPARTMENT CONDITIONS
1. If this project is in an unsewered area, a sanitary pennit must be obtained prior to the issuance ofa local building
pennit.
2. This pennission is only for footing and foundation work. Construction of the remainder of the building shall not
take place prior to depamnental review and conditional approval of the construction plans.
3. If this construction project will disturb 5 or more acres ofland, an Erosion Control Notice of Intent shall be filed
with the department.

The submittal described above has been reviewed for confonnance with applicable Wisconsin Administrative Codes
and Wisconsin Statutes. The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner. as defmed in
chapter 101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements.
The following conditions shall be met during construction or installation and prior to occupancy or use:
COMM 50.12 Prior to installation, one copy of the precast concrete plans, calculations, a completed SBD-118
application fonnanda $100 submittal fee shall be submitted to this office. Also one copy of the plan shall be
provided at the job site. When the total building volume exceeds 50,000 cubic feet, each set of plans shall bear
an indication of review which has been signed or initialed by the building designer of record.
COMM 50.12 Prior to installation, one copy of the wood truss plans, calculations, a completed SBD-118
application fonn and a $100 submittal fee shall be submitted to this office. Also one copy of the plan shall be
provided at the job site. When the total building volume exceeds 50,000 cubic feet, each set of plans shall bear
an indication of review which has been signed or initialed by the building designer of record.
COMM 50.12 This review does not include heating, ventilating or air conditioning. The owner should be
reminded that HVAC plans. calculations, a completed SBD-118 application fonnand appropriate fees are
required to be submitted for review and approval prior to installation.
COMM 50.12 This review does not include lighting. COMM 63.01 Prior to installation,lighting plans and
calculations shall be prepared in compliance with the code and properly signed and sealed. The plans shall be
available at the job site as requested by the Department representative or local official.
COMM 52.24 Provide a separate room or space on the site for the storage of recyclable materials.
COMM 54.06(2) Provide exit lights for all exits other than the principle entrance, and elsewhere as required to
direct occupants to the exits [see s. COMM 51.15 (5)].
COMM 54.15(3) Fire extinguishers are required to be provided in accordance with COMM 51.22.
A copy of the approved plans, specifications and this letter shall be on-site during construction and open to
inspection by authorized representatives of the Department, which may include local inspectors. All permits
required by the state or the lccal municipality shall be obtained prior to commencement of

In granting this approval the Division of Safety & Buildings reserves the right to require changes or additions should
conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance, As per state stats 101.12(2), notlring in this review
shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
