As I have stated, if compliance is provided by the court date, this office will recommend dismissal of one citation and a minimum stipulation on the other. Ultimately, any such decision is the responsibility of the City Attorney's Office. The following items/concerns were specifically observed in recent inspections and must be addressed for this office to make the aforementioned recommendation: L Finish painting, siding or a combination of both of the front porch. 2. Eliminate storage under the front porch. 3. Finish siding, soffit and facia installations for the remainder of the house. 4. Neatly store the boats within the confines of the gravel driveway or within the garage. 5. Eliminate storage of items on the boat visible from adjacent properties, the alley and street. 6. Store the boats in a manner that reflects you are preserving their value and is not obtrusive to the neighborhood. 7. Remove all lumber and beams stored in the driveway and elsewhere on the property that cannot, would not be reasonably used for the construction of the garage. Remaining construction materials that will not be used within a few days shall be neatly stored and protected from the elements. 8. Store all garbage cans, gas cans, mini bike, lawn tractor, garden tractor, bicycles and any other items typically not stored outdoors when not in use within the confIDes of the garage or other approved alternate location. For example, bicycles can be stored. in a basement if desired. 9. Make progress on the garage so it can be used for storage (install the roof and roofmg and cover the walls with a house wrap such as Tyvek.) We then would look for completion ofthe garage in a timely manner, typically prior to permit expiration. In such case, we would expect items typically stored in the garage (gas cans, garden tractor, garden trailer, etc.) to be stored in an acceptable manner. Such items (tractor, gas cans) may need to be stored off site in a garage due to the inherent dangers associated with their storage within a dwelling. In this case, the Building Permit for the garage has expired. Therefore you will need to obtain a renewed Building Permit and submit a schedule stating your plans for completing various phases of construction. For example when is compliance with the aforementioned phase scheduled? When will siding, soffit and facia be completed? When will garage doors be installed? When will grading and lawn seeding around the garage be completed? If you are unable to meet the progress schedule on the garage, you will need to communicate that to us with an explanation. As summed up in our meeting, this property has a general unkempt appearance. It is the cumulative effect of all of these issues that has resulted in this office taking corrective action on this property. As I have indicated previously, the City's goal is compliance. Typically if we gain compliance without significant legal action, we would rather see the money spent in providing compliance.
