The submittal described above has been reviewed for conformance with applicable Wisconsin Administrative Codes and
Wisconsin Statutes. The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner, as defined in Chapter
101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements

mc 711.3 Any penetrations of fire rated assemblies are required to be protected with a listed firestopping
system that matches the rating of the wall assembly being penetrated. Copies ofthefirestopping systems
are required to be provided at the time of inspection.

IFC 901.4 Fire protection systems shall be maintained in accordance with the original installation
standards for that system. Required fire protection systems shall be extended, altered, or augmented as
necessary to maintain and continue protection whenever the building is altered, remodeled or added to.
Alterations to fire protection systems shall be done in accordance with applicable standards.

above the finished floor if the floor space allows a forward approach by a wheel chair or if the clear space

IMC 302.1 The building or structure shall not be weakened by the installation of mechanical systems.
VerifY that structural modifications are completed per calculations and plans submitted and drift
loading is not required to be considered.
Comm 5.34 No person may perform structural welding unless the person holds a registration issued by
Department of Commerce. Provide welders registration numbers for all people doing welding on this
project.
IMC 304.9 Guards. Guards shall be provided where appliances, equipment, fans or other components that
require service are located within 10 feet (3048 mm) of a roof edge or open side of a walking surface and
such edge or open side is located more than 30 inches (762 mm) above the floor, roof or grade below. The
guard shall extend not less than 30 inches (762 mm) beyond each end of such appliance, equipment, fan or
component and the top of the guard shall be located not less than 42 inches (1067 mm) above the elevated
surface adjacent to the guard. The guard shall be constructed so as to prevent the passage of a 21-inch-
diameter (533 mm) sphere and shall comply with the loading requirements for guards specified in the
International Building Code. VerifY compliance with this code section
IMC 306.5 Equipment and appliances on roofs or elevated structures. Where equipment and
appliances requiring access are installed on roofs or elevated structures at a height exceeding 16 feet (4877
mm), such access shall be provided by a permanent approved means of access, the extent of which shall be
ftom grade or floor level to the equipment and appliances' level service space. Such access shall not
require climbing over obstructions greater than 30 inches (762 mm) high or walking on roofs having a
slope greater than 4 units vertical in 12 units horizontal (33-percent slope).
IMC 306.6 Sloped roofs. Where appliances are installed on a roof having a slope on units vertical in 12
units horizontal (25-percent slope) or greater and having an edge more than 30 inches (762 mm) above
grade at such edge, a level platform shall be provided on each side of the appliance to which access is
required by the manufacturer's installation instructions for service, repair or maintenance. The platform
shall not be less than 30 inches (762 mm) in any dimension and shall be provided with guards in
accordance with Section 304.9.. VerifY compliance with this code section
IMC 401.5.1 Mechanical and gravity outside air intake openings shall be located a minimum of 10 feet
ftom any hazardous or noxious contaminant such as vents, chinmeys, plumbing vents, streets,-alleys,
parking lots and loading docks.
IMC 405.1 Mechanical ventilation systems shall be provided with manual or automatic controls that will
operate such systems whenever the spaces are occupied. Air conditioning systems that supply required
ventilation air shall be provided with controls designed to automatically maintain the required outdoor air
supply rate during occupancy.
IECC 803.3.3.3 Off-hour controls. Each zone shall be provided with thermostatic setback controls that
are controlled by either an automatic time clock or programmable control system.
IFGC 401 /Comm 65.0400 All gas piping and gas piping installations shall comply with NFP A 54,
National Fuel Gas Code.
IFGC 619.2 Support. Suspended-type unit heaters shall be supported by elements that are designed and
constructed to accommodate the weight and dynamic loads. Hangers and brackets shall be of
noncombustible material.
IFGC 619.4 Clearance. Suspended-type unit heaters shall be installed with clearances to combustible
materials of not less than 18 inches (457 mm) at the sides, 12 inches (305 mm) at the bottom and 6 inches
(152 mm) above the top where the unit heater has an intemal draft hood or I inch (25 mm) above the top
of the sloping side of the vertical draft hood. Where the flue gases are vented horizontally, the 6-inch (152
mm) clearance shall be measured ftom the draft hood of vent instead of the rear wall of the unit heater.
Clearances for servicing all unit heaters shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's installation
instructions. Exception: Unit heaters listed for reduced clearance shall be permitted to be installed with
such clearances in accordance with their listing and the manufacturer's instructions.

Comm 161 NEC This plan review does not inclnde a complete review of electrical plans. Please note
there appears to be conflicting information in mechanical and electrical plans as to voltage of mechanical
equipment, and voltage available. (Based on riser diagram it would appear that 480 volts is not available,
however equipment wiring schedule list 480 volt equipment) Additionally there may be an issue with
grouping requirements for switchboard disconnects base on review of riser diagram indicating the
disconnects are not grouped. Please contact Kevin Benner - Electrical Inspector (920) 236-5046 for
additional information on this issue.
Comm 80 This plan review does not include plumbing. Prior to installation of plumbing, plans and
calculations are required to be submitted and approved if required by Comm 82.20. (greater than 16 piumbing
fixtures, or specific item listed in Table 82.20-2)
MUN 30 - This review does not include review for exterior signage, which will require separate review
by the planning department prior to permit issuance for exterior sigoage. Contact David Buck - Associate
planner (920) 236-5062 for additional information on sigo permit submittal requirements
Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve
rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted
approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the
approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its
authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A
revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be sigoed and sealed in accordance with
Comm 61.31(1).
SUBMIT:
MUN 30-35 (1)(5) All rooftop and ground level mechanical equipment and utilities shall be fully screened
ftom view of any street or residential zoning district. Contact David Buck - Associate planner (920) 236-
5062 for additional information on screening requirements. All screening shall be properly anchored in
place to resist wind loads. Additionally mc 1608.8 Roof projections - Drift loads due to mechanical
equipment, penthouses, parapets and other projections above the roof shall be determined in
accordance with Section 1.8 of ASCE 7. Provide calculations for drift loading - NO HV AC PERMIT
WILL BE ISSUED PRIOR TO SCREENING PLANS BEING APPROVED
IFC 901.4 Fire protection systems shall be maintained in accordance with the original installation

necessary to maintain and continue protection whenever the building is altered, remodeled or added to.
Alterations to fire protection systems shall be done in accordance with applicable standards. Sheet M4-0
provides only a suggested layout for sprinkler system. - Submit plans and calculations for fire sprinkler
modifications.
Comm 61.30(3) This review does not include lighting. Comm 63.0001 Prior to installation, lighting
plans and calculations shall be prepared in compliance with the code. Please submit lighting work sheets.
IECC 503.3.3.1 [Comm 63.0503(2)(1)] Balancing and documentation of the HV AC system shall conform
to the IMC. Balancing report required to be submitted prior to final occupancy being allowed.
. Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional
shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office.
A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All permits are required to
be obtained prior to commencement of work.

In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or
additions should conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this
review shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component. C
