1) BATTERY REPLACEMENT - Owner
2) PERIODIC TESTÎNGOF SMOKE DETECTOR UNITS - Tenant
NOTE: THE SMOKE DETECTOR ORDINANCE REQUIRES THAT THE TENANT SHALL IMMEDI-
ATELY NOTIFY THE LANDLORD IN WRITING IF A DEFECT DEVELOPS WITH THE DE-
TECTOR(S). A DETECTOR WITH A DEAD, OR MISSING OR DEFECTIVE BATTERY IS
CONSIDERED TO BE A DEFECTIVE SMOKE DETECTOR. IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A TENANT
TO INTENTIONALLY DISCONNECT OR REMOVE BATTERIES EXCEPT AT TIME OF BATTERY
REPLACEMENT ONLY.

MOVE BATTERIES FROM SMOKE DETECTOR UNITS LOCATED OUTSIDE OF HIS OWN RENTAL
UNIT.
