HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-292.doc SEPTEMBER 27, 2005 05-292 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 6-0 LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN PURPOSE: APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH AT&T AND SPRINT I ANCHORAGE BASIN PROJECT INITIATED BY: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the attached Proposals from AT&T and SPRINT for relocation of fiber optic cable required for the Anchorage Basin Storm Water Improvements project are hereby approved and the proper City officials are hereby authorized to execute an appropriate agreement and directed to take those steps necessary to implement the terms and conditions of the Agreement. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that money for this purpose is hereby appropriated from: Acct. No. 561-2010-1799-00000 - Storm Water Utility - Construction in Progress City of Oshkosh, WI Anchorage Basin Proj ect 2x 66" Casings under CNRR Protection Scope of Work This work order provides protection to Sprint's fiber optic cable during the construction of 2x 66" steel casings being Jack and Bored under Canadian National RR Mile Post 196.5 by The City of Oshkosh, WI for their Anchorage Basin Storm Project. This work will require approximately 120' of direct buried Sprint fiber optic cable 42" deep in 1 W' Plow Con to be dug up and exposed. The existing cable will be lowered 2-5 feet and placed in 60'of 4" split steel with Ix 1 W' inner duct and Ix 1 v,¡" split inner duct over the existing cable where the Jack and Bore Machine will be placed over Sprint during the 2x 66" steel casing installation. Sprint's 4" split steel protection will be a minimum of2' below the Jack and Bore rigging in 100% compacted trench backfill. This work order is necessary to protect Sprint's investment in facilities and to protect our customers from service interruptions during The City of Oshkosh Anchorage Basin Storm Project. Cable Project Engineer Central Region / Field Operations File WO 92766108 September 6, 2005 Scope of Work Appleton - Watertown Jet FT "A" Cable II City of Oshkosh Culvert Installation under CN Railroad The Location: This project is located along the CN Railroad in the city of Oshkosh, WI The Work: This work involves the exposing and lowering of approximately 140 feet of fiber cable in a 2" steel pipe three feet deep and installing 40 feet of concrete cap for two proposed 48" culverts to be installed over the top ofthe cable THE WORK WILL CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING: 1. Install temporary shoring along the track at each end of the project area where the cable ranges fÌ'om 9 feet to 12 feet fÌ'om the center of the track. . Expose approximately 140 feet of existing AT&T fiber cable 85 feet of with 2" steel pipe on it. . Lower the existing AT&T fiber cable three feet lower than the existing depth at the two proposed 48" culverts to be installed. Install 40 feet of concrete cap at the, locations where the two new culverts are to be installed and along the two existing culverts. Install AT&T cable warning tape, backfill and mechanically compact all excavated areas. . Clean up all disturbed areas along the route as good as or better condition and remove the Temporary shoring. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. NOTE: Extreme caution will be used when working around the existing AT&T fiber cable and no work will be done in the existing AT&T right-of-way with out a AT&T technician on site.
