IMC 302.1 The building or structure shall not be weakened by the installation of mechanical systems. Verify that existing structure is capable of supporting the additional weight of the proposed rooftop equipment. IMC 304.1 Equipment and appliances shall be installed as required by the terms of their approval, in accordance with the conditions of the listing, the manufactures instructions and this code. IMC 304.9 Guards. Guards shall be provided where appliances, equipment, fans or other components that require service are located within 10 feet (3048 mm) of a roof edge or open side of a walking surface and such edge or open side is located more than 30 inches (762 mm) above the floor, roof or grade below. The guard shall extend not less than 30 inches (762 mm) beyond each end of such appliance, equipment, fan or component and the top of the guard shall be located not less than 42 inches (1067 mm) above the elevated surface adjacent to the guard. The guard shall be constructed so as to prevent the passage of a 21-inch- diameter (533 mm) sphere and shall comply with the loading requirements for guards specified in the International Building Code IMC 306.5 Equipment and appliances on roofs or elevated structures. Where equipment and appliances requiring access are installed on roofs or elevated structures at a height exceeding 16 feet (4877 mm), such access shall be provided by a permanent approved means of access, the extent of which shall be from grade or floor level to the equipment and appliances' level service space. MUN 30-35 (1)(5) All rooftop and ground level mechanical equipment and utilities shall be fully screened from view of any street or residential zoning district. Additionally mc 1608.8 Roofprojections - Drift loads due to mechanical equipment, penthouses, parapets and other projections above the roof shall be detennined in accordance with Section 7.8 of ASCE 7. No permit wül he issued until screening plan is provided. SUBMIT: IECC 503.3.3.7 [Comm 63.0503(2)(1)] Balancing and documentation of the HV AC system shall conform to the lMC. Balancing report required to be submitted prior to final occupancy being allowed. . Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office. A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All permits are required to be obtained prior to commencement of work. In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or additions should conditions arise makiug them necessary for code compliance.
