The submittal described above has been reviewed for confonnance with applicable Wisconsin Administrative Codes and
Wisconsin Statutes. The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner, as defined in Chapter
101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements

mc 711.3 Any penetrations of fire rated assemblies are required to be protected with a listed firestopping
system that matches the rating of the wall assembly being penetrated. Copies of the firestopping systems
are required to be provided at the time of inspection.
1M C 302.1 The building or structure shall not be weakened by the installation of mechanical systems.
Verify that existing structure is capable ofsupporling the additional weight of the proposed rooftop
equipment / exhaust hood assembly.
IMC 306.5 Equipment and appliances on roofs or elevated structures. Where equipment and
appliances requiring access are installed on roofs or elevated structures at a height exceeding 16 feet (4877
mID), such access shall be provided by a permanent approved means of access, the extent of which shall be
from grade or floor level to the equipment and appliances' level service space. Such access shall not
require climbing over obstructions greater than 30 inches (762 mID) high or walking on roofs having a
slope greater than 4 units vertical in 12 units horizontal (33-percent slope).
IMC 401.5 Opening Location Outside air exhaust and intake openings shall be located a minimum of 10
feet (3048 mID) from lot lines or buildings on the same lot. Where opeuings front on a street or public way,
the distance shall be measured to the centerline of the street or public way.
IMC 401.5.1 Mechanical and gravity outside air intake openings shall be located a minimum of 10 feet
from any hazardous or noxious contaminant such as vents, chimneys, plumbing vents, streets, alleys,
parking lots and loading docks.

IMC 507.6 Type I hoods are required to secured in place by noncombustible supports.
As discussed non-combustible supports will be used.
IMC 507.9 A type I hood shall be installed with a clearance to combustibles of not less than 18
inches. Exception: Clearance shall not be required from gypsum wallboard attached to
noncombustible structures provided that a smooth, cleanable, nonabsorbent and
noncombustible material is installed between the hood an the gypsum wall-board over an area
extending not less than 18 inches in all directions from the hood.
As discussed a wall constructed of steel studs with gypsum board and stainless steel
covering will be installed behind the hood.
IMC 509.1 An approved automatic fire suppression system complying with the mc and IFC is
required for this hood installation.
Comm 61.31(4) Revisions to approved plans. All proposed revisions and modifications which involve
rules under this code and which are made to construction documents that have previously been granted
approval by the department or its authorized representative, shall be submitted to the office that granted the
approval. All revisions and modifications to plans shall be approved in writing by the department or its
authorized representative prior to the work involved in the revision or modification being carried out. A
revision or modification to a plan, drawing or specification shall be signed and sealed in accordance with
Comm61.31(1).
MUN 30-35 (1)(5) All rooftop and ground level mechanical equipment and utilities shall be fully screened
from view of any street or residential zoning district. Contact David Buck Associate planner (920) 236-
5062 for additional information on screening requirements. All screening shall be properly anchored in
place to resist wind loads. If after installation of equipment is visible from street or residential area
screening may be required.

SUBMIT:
IECC 503.3.3.7 [Comm 63.0503(2)(1)J Balancing and documentation ofthe HV AC system shall conform
to the IMC. Balancing report required to be submitted prior to final occupancy being allowed.
. Comm 61.50 (4) Supervision. Prior to the initial occupancy of an alteration the supervising professional
shall file a compliance statement form SBD-9720 with this office.
A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this letter shall be on-site during construction. All permits are required to
be obtained prior to commencement of work.
In granting this approval the City of Oshkosh Inspection Services Department reserves the right to require changes or
additions should conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this
review shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
