The submittal described above has been reviewed for conformance witb applicable Wisconsin Administrative Codes
and Wisconsin Statutes. The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner, as defined in
chapter 101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance witb all code requirements.
The following conditions shall be met during construction or installation and prior to occupancy or use:

Exceptions ONLY include use of a corridor as a source of makeup air for exhaust systems, and use of space

Return air from the corridor is not permitted, the return air ducts from the corridor on Furnaces F-2 & Ff-3
must be eliminated.

maintenance shall be presented to tbe owner.
IFGC 302.3/IMC 302.3 Joist notching; stud cutting and notching; as well as bored holes in wood fi:anting
associated witb tbe installation ofHV AC equipment and its distribution system shall be limited as defined in this

outside air intakes serving tempered or heated spaces witb motorized dampers which will close the damper and
prevent tbe intake of outside air into tbe building when tbe ventilating unit is not in operation. Barometric
controls shall not be used for tbe damper.
IECC 803/Comm 63.0803(2)(e) Exhaust openings serving tempered or heated spaces must be provided witb
automatic or self-activating back-draft dampers to prevent tbe intake of outside air into tbe building when tbe
exhaust units are not in operation, except as allowed by tbe code.
A copy of tbe approved plans, specifications and Ibis letter shall be on-site during construction and open to
inspection by autborized representatives oftbe Department, which may include local inspectors. If plan index sheets
were submitted in lieu of additional full plan sets, a copy of this approval letter and index sheet shall be attached to
plans tbat correspond witb tbe copy on file witb tbe Department. All permits required by tbe state or tbe local
municipality shall be obtained prior to commencement of construction/installation/operation.
In granting this approval tbe Division of Safety & Buildings reserves tbe right to require changes or additions should
conditions arise making tbem necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), notbing in this review
shall relieve tbe designer oftbe responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.

The submittal described above has been placed on HOLD and Four (4) sets of plans are being returned. The review and
approval is pending subject to receipt of tbe ADDITIONAL INFORMATION and re-submittal of a minimum of Four (4)
sets of revised plans as requested by Ibis letter. Upon receipt oftbe additional information and tbe revised plans, tbe plans
will be reviewed for compliance to applicable Wisconsin Administrative Codes and Wisconsin Statutes.
The following must be corrected and revised plans must accompany tbe re-submittal:

IMC 401.3/Comm 64.0401(2) Provide a building exhaust ventilating system which will operate continuously
when people are in tbe building to provide tbe amount of exhaust specified in Comm Table 64.0403.
IMC 403/Comm 64.0403(8) Air change shall be provided as required by code while people are present.
IMC 403/Comm 64.0403(6)(0)1. Provide a minimum of outside air in tbe amount of7.5 cfinperperson in tbe
building. Simultaneously exhaust an equal amount of air. See Comm Table 64.0403.
The HVAC systems as designed do not provide the minimum outside requirements of the code, resubmit revised
plans.
IBC 1004.3.2.4 Corridors shall not service as supply, return, exhaust, relief or ventilation air ducts or plenums.

IBC 711.3 Penetrations into or tbrough flIewalls, flIe barriers, smoke barrier walls, and flIe partitions shall
comply witb this section.
IMC 607 Provide flIe dampers as required where ductwork pierces flIe-rated construction. One hour systems
have exemptions under certain conditions. Fire dampers may not be used witb firewalls per !MC 607.5.1.
Corridor 300 has been designed as a rated corridor and therefore any penetrations shall be addressed.

oftbe date of this correspondence, Ibis submittal will be returned denied. No fees will be refunded, and a new fee,
application form, and submittal of plans/specifications will be required should you desire to continue witb Ibis
project. The code in effect attbe time of new submittal would apply.
