Below is a description of the existing plant HVAC system and the proposed ventilation addition. Existinq HVAC Svstem: Exhaust fan summary EF-1 1250 CFM 4200 CFM 4200 CFM 4200 CFM 25000 CFM 18500 CFM 4300 CFM 61650 CFM Toilet Room Ink Mixing Ink Mixing Ink Mixing Coater General Exhaust Press Exhaust to Incinerator EF-2 EF-3 EF-4 EF-5 Incinerator EF-6 Total Exhaust Make-up air (2) make-up air units. King model DCFOC-230B, 80/20 units with building pressure controls. Capacity of these units are 60,000 CFM each, 6,050 MBH each, The purpose of these units are to maintain a slight positive building pressure in reference to the outdoors. There are existing gas fired unit heaters located along the perimeter of the facility to offset building heat loss. New Ventilation Svstem: Provide (2) 40,000 CFM roof mounted air handling units. These units will be mounted on a structure steel platform. The platform is provided by CR Meyer. Each unit weighs 9,352 Ibs. The air handling units will contain: mixing box, 2" thick 30% efficient filters, chilled water coils and a supply fan section. The chilled water coils will not be piped at this time and will remain inactive. The main purpose of the units at this time is to provide heat relief in the plant in spring, summer and fall. A control panel will be provided. A remote bulb senses space temperature and modulates the mixed air dampers. A low limit discharge controller will not permit the discharge temperature to drop below 60°F. A freeze thermostat will de-energize the unit and close the outside air dampers if the mixed air temperature drops below 45°F. As you mentioned, plans do not have to be submitted for this project. This letter, along with the HVAC permit will allow us to proceed with the work.
