State Building Inspector and I condtct.ed an inspection of this building. OUr
inspection revealed several property naint.enance violations Iohich have been
detailed in the enclosed Violation/Correction Notice. 1his inspection also
revealed SOlœ st.ruct.ural violations that DUSt. be addressed imnediatel y . They
are as follows:
1. 'Ibe st.ruct.ural su¡:ports to all the precast cazports have deteriorated and
are questionable as to their struct.ural integrity.
2. SoIœ of the cantelevered floors appear to be out of level, possibly indi-
cating a weakening of the floor system that is su¡:porting the cantelever.
'lhese issues oust be addressed by a structural engineer for safety and repair.
I oust also point out that this building was not built in accordance with the
State A(;proved Plans that are on file in this office. 'Ibese plans called for
~ cazports and decks, not precast <:aJCrete.
'Ibese structural problems shall be analyzed by a Wisconsin registered engi-
neer. A report from this engineer shall be subni tted to this office by April
20, 1992. 1his report shall state the imœdiate condition of the precast
concrete and W1ether said condition poses a life safety threat. A registered
engineer shall also subnit plans and calaJlations for review and ~val on
how to correct all st.ruct.ural violations on this site.
Please contact Iœ regæ:ding any questions you nay have about these violations
at 236-5050. I would also like you to subni t a schecìù.e of conpletion for all
the violations.

In May I sent you a reminder about repairing/replacing the exterior
steps to the southeast apartment unit. On Wednesday, July 28,
1993, I conducted a reinspection and found that these stairs had
been corrected. I did note, however, that handrails had not been
installed.
PIease note that the Building Code does require stairs with more
than three risers to be provided with handrails. This code also
requires handrails on both sides of exterior stairs when handrails
are required.
Please call me at 236-5050 to notify me when this will be
corrected. Your cooperation in repairing this building has been
appreciated.

As you will recall, this structure has been under orders to correct
some very serious structural violations since March 18, 1992 To
date DO one has obtained a Building Pel'mit for the required
repairs.
Please be advised that these r<=pairs must be made immediately.
Failure to have all r~pairs made by November 30, 1992, will result
in this building being posted uninhabitable and citations being
issued for failu're to 'correct these violations. .
