If approved, this resolution would direct staff to proceed with the acquisition of City Center. Ahead of this meeting, staff from both the City and GO-EDC will hold a public information event regarding the potential City Center project and downtown redevelopment. The event will be held on Wednesday, May 6th from 4:00 – 5:30pm at City Hall in Council Chambers (215 Church Ave, Room 406). They will provide a brief presentation, followed by a question-and-answer period. This event is open to the public. Please submit your questions in advance using this Google form. Doing so will help staff answer as many questions as possible in a limited amount of time. In addition, staff has put together a City Center Project webpage to provide information about the potential project, upcoming meetings where this may be considered, and answer some frequently asked questions. 5 Stones of the Fox Valley On Tuesday, April 21st, School Resource Officer Deana Brandl and Sergeant Chris Gorte attended a community event at Fox Valley Technical College Riverside Campus in Oshkosh sponsored by 5-Stones of the Fox Valley. The event was to bring awareness to the topic of online sextortion, spark meaningful conversations about social media safety for juveniles, and to protect families from becoming victims of sextortion. Pictured with officers below is guest speaker John Demay, a Michigan father who tragically lost his 17- year-old son, Jordan, to online sextortion. Information about sextortion or sex/human trafficking can be obtained by visiting the 5-Stones webpage or by contacting the Oshkosh Police Department.
