INFORMATIONAL LETTERS SENT TO PROPERTY OWNERS ON SCOTT AVENUE, WEST 12TH AVENUE, OHIO STREET, AND WEST 16TH AVENUE: The City of Oshkosh is getting ready for several street reconstruction projects in 2026. We recently mailed information letters to property owners on Scott Avenue, West 12th Avenue, Ohio Street, and West 16th Avenue to share early details about the work and the special assessment process. These reconstruction projects include: • Work that you can see when we are done: o Concrete paving and/or asphalt paving o New curb and gutter o New sidewalk o Concrete approaches for properties impacted by construction • Work that is underground: o New or replaced storm sewer laterals within the street right-of-way o Replacing sanitary sewer and water laterals within the street right-of-way o Installing new sanitary sewer, water main, and storm sewers throughout the project limits Construction Start Dates: • West 16th Avenue (Ohio Street to Oregon Street) – the week of March 23rd • Scott Avenue (Elmwood Avenue to Jackson Street) – the week of April 6th • West 12th Avenue (Nebraska Street to South Main Street) – the week of May 18th • Ohio Street West South Park Avenue to West 17th Avenue) – the week of June 22nd To get project updates by e-mail: 1. You’ll get a reply confirming your request. 3. Reply to that message within 5 days to finish signing up. Special assessments: In November 2025, the Common Council adopted initial resolutions to authorize the Department Engineering & Utilities to move forward with preparing final plans for these improvements. The letters also included information about how the Vehicle Registration Fee affects special assessments and the planned public hearing for special assessments, which is tentatively scheduled for May 2026. GET INVOLVED IN A BOARD OR COMMISSION: If you are interested in serving your community, consider becoming a member of one of the City’s citizen advisory boards, commissions, or committees.
