Home My WebLink About05-27.doc FEBRUARY 8, 2005 05-27 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 7-0 LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN PURPOSE: INTENT TO EXERCISE EXTRATERRITORIAL ZONING JURISDICTION IN THE TOWN OF ALGOMA AND SPECIFYING THE GEOGRAPHIC JURISDICTION OF SUCH ZONING INITIATED BY: DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh is authorized to adopt ordinances to promote the public health, safety and general welfare of the community; and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh wishes to ensure the orderly development of areas located in the Town of Algoma and beyond the corporate limits of the City of Oshkosh so as to protect the public health, safety and general welfare of the community; and WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh and the Town of Algoma have entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement, approved by the Oshkosh Common Council on February 25, 2003, and this Agreement calls for Extraterritorial Zoning to be put in place in certain areas of the Town of Algoma; and WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh may exercise extraterritorial zoning jurisdiction over some or all lands within 3 miles of the corporate limits of the City of Oshkosh under Section 62.23(7a) of the Wisconsin State Statutes.
