WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR OSHKOSH?
$47 M
Each year, the City of Oshkosh develops an operating budget to support the almost 67,000 people
and hundreds of businesses that call the city home. For the 2026 budget, the City Manager’s office
took an approach that provides efficient, effective services; makes key strategic investments for
the future and decreases the city property tax rate.
The 2026 budget keeps the tax levy flat, reduces the city property tax rate and implements
efficiencies to help deliver the same high-quality services residents expect for less – including police,
fire and EMS; economic development; garbage and recycling collection; high-quality parks and roads.
Sound investments in the past, along with strong financial management, have helped Oshkosh
create an efficient, forward-thinking budget that:
• Lowers the city’s property tax rate
• Fosters investment in our community
• Provides efficient, effective services for our residents
• Draws from the fund balance at a lower level than last year
