HomeMy WebLinkAboutAppendix_B_Self_Evaluation_Results B-1 Appendix B – Self-Evaluation Results At the time of the parks, public buildings and facilities inventories, the City was following general ADA design guidance and procedures. This included a commitment to providing access to all users but does not have a formal policy or procedure to assign priority regarding ADA accessibility issues within the City. Implementing a method to assign priority will be a part of this Plan effort. Parks, Public Buildings and Facilities Data Collection for the parks, public buildings and facilities self-evaluation was completed in July and August of 2021. The self-evaluation was performed by SRF Consulting Group, an ADA consultant. Public Buildings and Facilities Key Findings Several deficiencies were found to be common across most public buildings and facilities: • Slope of the many spaces and access aisles were greater than 2 percent in any direction. • Many of the entrance doors required more than 5 pounds to open and did not take at least 5 seconds to close. • Many locations did not have enough accessible parking stalls. • Many restrooms did not have clear accessible spaces to each of the restroom amenities. .
