ileating and ventilating plans for the above named project have been atamped,
"Conditionally Approved--Sae Correspondence," and two or more copies of plans
are being re[urned to you.
The conditions of approval are as follows:
1. Ind 59.59 Cambustion air ehall be supplied to the unit heaters and suspended
furnaces se provided in thie aection.
2. Ind 59.66 Heating appliances ahall be aupported by incombuatibla brackets
or hangers, ehall be located at least 7 feet above the floor and at least
6 inchee away from a combustible wall or ceiling.
3. Ind 59.67 Chimneys or gas vents ahall be of a Class B or better contruction.
4. Znci59.41(3) In Che fac[ory area, exliauet ventilation at a rate of 4,400 CFM
shall be maintained simultaneously with the outaide sir eupply.
5. Determine whether or not the structural members carrying the heating and/or
ventilating equipment are adequate.
The following items pertain to the office area:
1. Ind 59.24(8) Where ventilation is affected by exhauat methods an outside
tempered air aupply ahall be provided to replace Che sir exhausted from the
area if a volu� of sir exhausted eahausted exceeda one air changel� per hour.
Yaur calculationa indicate that you are exhauating a total of 2,669 CF^f
frvm this area while the mini�aum outaide supply is only 815 Ci�t. This is
noC in compliance with this eection.

2. Ind 59.69(6) The plenum above suapended ceilings shall be of incomhustible
construction. The inetallation of hazardoue piping is prohibited. Openings
into the plenum tnat would affect the fire-resistive rating of a roof and
ceiling are prohibited.
3. Determine whether or aot the structural membars carryin� heating and/or
ventilating equipment are adequate.
The following itewa partain Xo the paint atorase room:
1. Ind 8.40(4) Walls, floore and roof or roof assemblies shall be noncombustible
with at least a Cwo-hour fire-resistive rating. Openinge in above construction
shall be protected with approved 1-1/2 hous time rated fire doore or better
equipped vith a aelf-closin� device.
�very inaida storage room ahall be provide with gravity or a chemical exhaust
ventilation syatem. Such eystema shall be deaigned to provlded for a complete
chan.ge of ais within the room at least 10 times per hour. Ttierefore, for thia
area, a total of 655 CFM ia required but the plan� indicate that you are only
providing 400 CFM. Thie is not in compliance with this aection.
The duct heater for the pa3nt atorage room sha11 be a unit approv�d by Under-
writers Laboratory bearing tha Class I hazardous location seal. Please aub-
mit manufacturer's information builetins shovin� thia classification.
The thermoetat inside the gaiat etorage room shall be approvecl for Class I
d4vision II hazardous locations.

The plans for this project hava been conditionally approved but all items Lhat
ere required to be changed by this letter must be corrected before co�encing
that part of the vrork.

cite3 hereitt. Code requirementa are aet forth in Chaptera 50 to 59 of the rules
of the Department.
