Subject: Building Permit for Stack Extensions
Five stacks are to be increased in height for the purpose of better ventilation. The
stacks are on the factory roof that has a maximum height of 24 feetThis roof is of a typical
comigated sheet metal design, supported by five feet center trusses and forty feet center
I beams. The existing stacks are to be cut off a maximum of 3 feet above ihe roof. On this
20 ieet extensions are to be added. These extensions are to be capped with vertical
discharge tops which will extend no more than another 5 feet above the extensions. The .
stacks range from 3 to 18 inches in diameter and are to be supported by 3 to 4 guy wires
each depending on diameter. Thus the total height of the stacks will not exceed 28 feet.
When added to the mar.imum height of the building the overall height will be l.ess than 52
feet wtuch is 8 feet under the 60 foot restriction for the proposed zone.
Total estimated cost of project: $5,487.00
