Yes, I hold degrees in Finance and have over ten years of experience in the banking industry, where
I developed strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic planning. I currently serve on
the City of Oshkosh Long Range Finance Committee and as an adjunct board member for the
Oshkosh Area United Way through Leadership Oshkosh, experiences that have deepened my
understanding of municipal finance and community collaboration. My participation in Leadership
Oshkosh strengthened my commitment to civic engagement, and as a real estate business owner, I
bring practical insight into local development and economic growth. Together, these experiences
have prepared me to contribute effectively and responsibly as a City Council member.
I wish to serve on the City Council to help shape a strong, vibrant, and financially responsible future
for our community. With my background in finance, banking, and real estate, along with my service
on the Long Range Finance Committee and through Leadership Oshkosh, I am committed to
applying my experience to ensure thoughtful growth, fiscal accountability, and collaborative
decision-making that reflects the values and needs of our residents.

Dear Mayor Mugerauer and Members of the Oshkosh City Council,
I’m writing to express my interest in serving on the Oshkosh City Council. Over the past couple
of years, I’ve had the privilege of calling Oshkosh home, and in that time, I’ve developed a
strong appreciation for the people, the sense of community, and the opportunities that make this
community so special. I believe my background in finance, experience in banking, and
involvement in local leadership and service have equipped me to make a meaningful contribution
to the Council’s work.
I hold a degree in Finance and have worked in the banking industry for over a decade, currently
serving as a Loan Officer at Community First Credit Union. My professional experience has
given me a deep understanding of financial stewardship, economic growth, and the impact sound
budgetary decisions can have on individuals and communities alike.
In addition to my career in finance, I currently serve on the City of Oshkosh Long Range Finance
Committee. I’ve also been honored to serve as an adjunct board member for the Oshkosh Area
United Way through my participation in the Leadership Oshkosh Class of 2025. Leadership
Oshkosh has been a rewarding experience. It’s allowed me to connect with a wide range of
community leaders, deepen my understanding of local issues, and reaffirm my commitment to
giving back to this city that’s given so much to me thus far.
I’m passionate about helping Oshkosh continue to grow responsibly and thrive for generations to
come. I believe thoughtful leadership, collaboration, and transparency are essential to that
mission, and I’d be honored to bring my financial background, community perspective, and
dedication to public service to the City Council.
Although I wanted to make sure to highlight why I am the best candidate for this City Council
position, I also want to talk about the main focus, and that’s what the people want in the city of
Oshkosh. As Oshkosh continues to grow, it’s clear that our community values responsiveness,
transparency, and trust in local leadership. Residents want to know their voices are heard and
that their feedback truly shapes the direction of our city. They also expect openness and
accountability in how resources are allocated, ensuring that every dollar serves a clear purpose
and benefits the community as a whole. Finally, people care deeply about the quality of the
public services they rely on every day. From infrastructure and safety to parks and recreation,
and they deserve to see those services delivered efficiently and to their satisfaction. I believe the
City Council has a vital role in strengthening these connections between leadership and residents,
fostering trust, and ensuring Oshkosh continues to be a place where people are proud to live and
work.
Thank you for your consideration. I would be grateful for the opportunity to further discuss how
my experience and commitment align with the needs of the Council and the residents of
Oshkosh.
Sincerely,
Jacob Amos
