❖ Evaluation of traffic in the area of 4th/5th and Michigan Street. We received a citizen
request at the last meeting and I have also received an email request to evaluate traffic
in this area to see if additional traffic control is warranted. Currently, this whole area is
under construction. There is road construction as well as construction of the Boat Works

apartments and the nearby new hospital. It is premature to evaluate traffic volume and
patterns as they are likely to change after construction finishes. The new Boat Works
apartments are residential so should generate minimal new traffic.
❖ The Common Council didn’t get 4 members to agree to move forward with allowing
ATV/UTVS on city roads.
❖ The Common Council deferred a decision on Grand Street parking
❖ The Common Council voted 3-1 against installing traffic signals at the east driveway of
Traeger Elementary and W. 20th
❖ The Common Council voted unanimously to prohibit e-bikes on sidewalks abutting
buildings following the recommendation of the committee. Once the ordinance is
enacted, staff will work to educate the public.
