HomeMy WebLinkAbout08.08.25 Newsletter : TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Rebecca Grill, City Manager DATE: August 8, 2025 RE: Weekly Newsletter Photo credit: Bernard Schoneberg 1. 2025 EAA AIRVENTURE BREAKS RECORDS (AGAIN!): A record-breaking 2025 EAA AirVenture came to a close on Sunday, July 27, as thousands of aircraft departed Oshkosh, marking the end of aviation’s biggest gathering of the year. More than 10,000 aircraft arrived at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh and other airports in east-central Wisconsin. At Wittman alone, there were 16,246 aircraft operations in the 11-day period from July 17-28, which is an average of approximately 108 takeoffs/landings per hour when the airport is open. EAA saw another record-breaking attendance of 704,000 visitors from 94 different countries who visited the grounds at Wittman Field and the EAA Museum, which surpassed the previous year’s record. Last year’s record-breaking attendance of 686,000 visitors was crushed by the additional visitors this year at EAA AirVenture 2025. The 73rd EAA AirVenture will return to Oshkosh next year from July 20th through July 26th. The City of Oshkosh Fire Department was happy to serve you, and we look forward to seeing you next year! 2.
