HomeMy WebLinkAbout08.01.25 Newsletter : TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Rebecca Grill, City Manager DATE: August 1, 2025 RE: Weekly Newsletter 1. ASSESSOR’S OFFICE CLARIFIES INCOME AND EXPENSE DATA: Owners of commercial property in the City of Oshkosh have recently received requests from the Assessor's Office to provide income and expense data related to the rental of that real estate. Multiple questions have been received about what to do with this form if the recipient is both the owner of the business and the real estate. If both the property owner and occupant are the same, the property owner can simply write “owner occupied” and return it to the Assessor's Office. If only a portion of the building is owner occupied, use the section of the form titled “Commercial – Rental & or Lease Data” to list the tenants, along with the amount of square footage they are occupying. In this area, the estimated square footage that is owner occupied should be listed with “owner occupied” written under the tenant column. Staff appreciates the time taken to complete this form and return it to the Assessor’s Office by August 4th. More information, along with a fillable version of the form, is available at the Assessor’s Office Income and Expense Request page. 2. POLICE LIGHTS OF CHRISTMAS: The Police Lights of Christmas kickoff event was held at Culver’s for both lunch and dinner on Tuesday, July 29. Oshkosh Police supervisors and officers, along with Omro Police Department Officers and Winnebago County Sheriff Deputies, participated in the fundraising event! All proceeds from the event go directly to the Lights of Christmas NE Wisconsin to purchase gift cards for law enforcement officers in our communities to hand out to citizens in need during the winter and Christmas season. It was a great time and we enjoyed seeing community members and their families. We want to express our sincere appreciation to Culver’s for sponsoring this event and to everyone who generously donated to this great cause! 3.
