The submittal described above has been reviewed for conformance with applicable Wisconsin Administrative Codes
and Wisconsin Statutes. The submittal has been CONDITIONALLY APPROVED. The owner, as defined in
chapter 101.01(10), Wisconsin Statutes, is responsible for compliance with all code requirements.

Comm 61.30(3) This review does not include heating, ventilating or air conditioning. The owner should be
reminded that HV AC plans, calculations, and appropriate fees are required to be submitted for review and
approval prior to installation. The submitted HV AC plans shall match the approved building plans.
. Submit, prior to installation, one (1) set of properly signed and sealed truss plans, a completed SB-II8
application fonD including this transaction mnnber and signed by the building designer, and $100 submittal fee
to Safety & Buildings, P.O. Box 7162, Madison WI 53707-7162.
Reminders
Comm 61.30(3) This review does not include lighting. Comm 63.0001 Prior to installation, lighting plans and
calculations shall be prepared in compliance with the code and properly signed and sealed. The plans shall be
available at the job site as requested by the Department representative or local official.
. Comm 62.0400(2) Provide an area on site for the storage of recyclable materials per this section.
Comm 62.1109(13)(a) Controls, operating mechanisms and hardware intended for operation by the occupant,
including switches that control lighting and ventilation, and electrical convenience outlets, in accessible spaces,

ICC/ANSI A1l7.1 Sec. 608.7 Shower compartment thresholds for either roll-in or transfer shall not exceed Y,
inch and shall be beveled in compliance with Section 303.
If this building will be a residential care apartment complex or facility (RCAC), contact the Department of
Health and Family Services at tel (608) 266-0071 regarding their additional requirements under WI
Administration Code HFS 89.
Comm 61.36(1)(a) & (b) This approval will expire 2 years after the date of this letter if the building shell is not
closed in within those 2 years. Also, this approval will expire 3 years after the date of this letter if the work
covered by this approval is not completed and the buildiug ready for occupancy within those 3 years.
ICC/ANSI A1l7.1 Sec. 303.4 Changes in level greater than Y, inch shall be ramped to comply with Sections
405 or 406.
mc 703.2 The fIre-resistance rating of building elements shall be detennined in accordance with the test
procedures set forth in ASTM EI19 or in accordance with!BC Section 703.3. This infonnation, and its related
construction specifications, shall be shown on the plans. Refers to fIre barrier between living units and garages
and fire partitions between dwelling units.
ICC/ANSI A1l7.1 Sec. 1003.11.3.1.3 In a Type B dwelling unit or sleeping unit intended for use as a
residence, the Option A bathroom shall have a 30 inch by 60 inch clear space parallel to the tub when the
parallel approach is used. A lavatory is allowed only at the foot end of the tub if the clear floor space parallel to
the tub is maintained at 30 inches by 48 inches.
ICC/ANSI A1l7.1 Sec. 1003.12.2.1 The kitchen sink in a Type B dwelling or sleeping unit shall be provided
with a parallel approach 30 inches by 48 inches which is centered on the sink. A front approach complying with
Section 606 may also be used.
ICC/ANSI A1l7.1 Sec. 1003.4.2 Where exterior decks, balconies or patios of Type B units, intended to be
used as a residence, are impervious to water the surface may be 4 inches below the interior floor of the dwelling
or sleeping units.
ICC/ANSI A1l7.1 Sec. 1003.5.2.2 The threshold of any exterior sliding patio, porch or balcony door of a
Type B dwelling or sleeping unit intended to be used as a residence, shall be pennitted to be % inch high
maximum provided it is beveled with a slope not exceeding 1:2.
ICC/ANSI A1l7.1 Sec. 1003.9 Lighting controls, electrical receptacles, environmental controls and user
controls for security or intercom systems in a Type B dwelling or sleeping unit intended as a residence shall
comply with the clear floor space and reach ranges of Sections 309.2 and 309.3.

A copy of the approved plans, specifications and this letter shall be on-site during construction and open to
inspection by authorized representatives of the Department, which may include local inspectors. Ifplan index sheets
were submitted in lieu of additional full plansets, a copy of this approval letter and index sheet shall be attached to
plans that correspond with the copy on file with the Department. All pennits required by the state or the local
municipality shall be obtained prior to commencement of construction/installation/operation.
In granting this approval the Division of Safety & Buildings reserves the right to require changes or additions should
conditions arise making them necessary for code compliance. As per state stats 101.12(2), nothing in this review
shall relieve the designer of the responsibility for designing a safe building, structure, or component.
