NO GARBAGE OR RECYCLING COLLECTION ON JULY 4TH: Due to the City’s observance of the Independence Day holiday, there will be no garbage or recycling collection on Friday, July 4, 2025. Collections for the remainder of the week will be one day later. Garbage and recycling collection scheduled for Friday, July 4th, moves to Saturday, July 5th. Regular services will resume on Monday, July 7th. Additionally, the City’s yard waste drop-off site located on West 3rd Avenue (between Idaho Street and Ohio Street) will be closed for the holiday on Friday, July 4th. The drop-off site will reopen on Saturday, July 5th. Residential curbside brush collection for July will take place on the regularly-scheduled garbage collection day the week of July 7th thru July 11th. If you have any questions, please contact Public Works Field Operations Manager, Ryan Lemke. 2. PUBLIC HEARING FOR CONTRACTS 25-02, 04, 05, 07, 08, 09, AND 12 HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED: Due to an incorrect posting date in the Northwestern newspaper, the public hearing initially held on May 27 will now take place at 6:00 pm on July 8, 2025. Public Works staff will be available before the public hearing (Room 310, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.) to answer any questions residents may have about the project. Updated information was mailed to affected residents on June 13, 2025 and the correct public notice was posted in the Northwestern on June 20, 2025. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and appreciate your patience and understanding. OFD WELCOMES NEW STAFF: The Oshkosh Fire Department is thrilled to share the exciting news of their latest additions to the department. They extend a warm welcome to their new Office Assistants, Amy Zillges and Paula Gerritsen. In addition, they are delighted to have Inspector Dayne Krueger joining their staff. All three begin their new positions on Monday, June 30th. Welcome to the City of Oshkosh team! 4. GET INVOLVED IN A BOARD OR COMMISSION: If you are interested in serving your community, please consider becoming a member of one of the City’s citizen advisory boards, commissions, or committees.
