HomeMy WebLinkAbout12.06.24 Newsletter TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Mark Rohloff, City Manager DATE: December 6, 2024 RE: Weekly Newsletter 1. STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT SOLVING CRIMES: Detective Chee Vang visited all 2nd grade classrooms throughout the Oshkosh Area School District to teach young students how to become crime solvers! CER (Claims, Evidence, Reasoning) in the classroom is a method used to teach students how to develop critical thinking and communication skills: Claim=A statement that answers a question; Evidence=Data, observations, or facts that support the claim; Reasoning=An explanation that links the evidence to the claim. A mock crime scene was set up to give the students an opportunity to put CER to the test! It was a great time and learning experience for all. 2.
