Experience_qualifications_training:
1. Art History college course in architecture
2. Served 7 years at Paine Art Center as curator & was involved with many architectural issues there.
3. Served 12-1/2 years as museum director of Hearthstone Historic House, an 1880s William Waters' mansion in
Appleton. Completed restoration projects while there for entire exterior, for over 10 interior rooms, and for the basement
area. Site now receives nearly 8,000 visitors annually.
4. Organized and oversaw five designer showcase house fund raisers that featured historic homes,
5. Organized and oversaw three tours of homes featuring historic structures in historic districts.
6. Served on Heritage Riverfront Development Committee for City of Appleton.
7. Serve on the Board of Curators of the WI Historical Society, which owns and oversees nine historic sites.
8. Have studied and visited numerous architectural works by William Waters, Frank Lloyd Wright and other noted
architects.
9. Have done graduate research papers on specific buildings.
10. Taught for over 15 years in the Oshkosh Public School System, in the art department at UW Oshkosh, and in the art
department of UW Fond du Lac.
11. Served for five years as a historic house museum and historic site assessor for the American Association of Museums
evaluating 5 historic sites in Missouri (2), Indiana, and Illinois (3).
12. Enjoy working with people who have similar architectural interests.
Reason_for - wanting_to _serve:
I believe that with my extensive background and knowledge about historic architecture and experience working as a team
member on developing plans for historic sites and neighborhoods, that I would bring some insights into issues related to
historic structures and neighborhoods. Now that I have recently retired, I have more time to devote.
